Potter trio signed on for final two films
Warner Brothers announced in a press release today that Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint are all officially signed on for the Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows films. Each of the three actors, along with Producer David Heyman, were quoted in the release.From Dan:
"Playing the role of Harry Potter has been an immense privilege, and I look forward to completing the series. I feel a huge sense of loyalty to the character of Harry and the fans who have supported these films over the years. During filming, I have learnt so much, made lots of friends and met people who have changed my life. I am indebted to J K Rowling, Warner Bros. and David Heyman for giving me this fantastic opportunity."From Emma:
"I could never let Hermione go - she is my hero! I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films."From Rupert:
"Ron Weasley has become a big part of my life and not just because we've both got ginger hair! I've been so proud to play him and loved every second of being part of this world. I'm really looking forward to filming the last two films and being back with my 'Weasley family' and, of course, to seeing my good friends Emma and Dan. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive over the years; we couldn't have done it without you."

The news story that "quoted" Emma saying she didn't want to do any more HP movies was obviously bogus. Today's journalism standards are just plain awful.

I am so happy about this! I knew Emma would stay on, I had no doubts! They have made the characters what they are on the films and I think all of us thank them for their commitment to these films! Thank you Dan, Rupert, and Emma!

While I believe Emma to be the best of the three when it comes to raw talent, I do think she hams it up a little too much. Still, I'm glad they didn't try and change the actors this late in the game.

I also would like to comment on what each said in the release. This to me shows how much respect each has for the books, the fans, their characters, and the movies and I think it is great how nice and gracious they all are. By the end, they will have spent half their lives bringing these books to life on to the screen and I really appreciate it as do many others. This is a huge commitment and I hope all us will respect them for it. I am hoping no one will come on here a bash them in response to this news because they are owed our gratitude and respect.

I knew that they (the trio) could not pass up finishing the movies, there was never a doubt in my mind that Emma would sign for HBP or DH. But it is still a great relief to see that they are all signed now! SWEET!
