Potter trio signed on for final two films
Potter trio signed on for final two films Warner Brothers announced in a press release today that Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint are all officially signed on for the Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows films. Each of the three actors, along with Producer David Heyman, were quoted in the release.

From Dan:
"Playing the role of Harry Potter has been an immense privilege, and I look forward to completing the series. I feel a huge sense of loyalty to the character of Harry and the fans who have supported these films over the years. During filming, I have learnt so much, made lots of friends and met people who have changed my life. I am indebted to J K Rowling, Warner Bros. and David Heyman for giving me this fantastic opportunity."
From Emma:
"I could never let Hermione go - she is my hero! I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films."
From Rupert:
"Ron Weasley has become a big part of my life and not just because we've both got ginger hair! I've been so proud to play him and loved every second of being part of this world. I'm really looking forward to filming the last two films and being back with my 'Weasley family' and, of course, to seeing my good friends Emma and Dan. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive over the years; we couldn't have done it without you."

Thus is the end of all the speculation. The "wisest, happiest, and most reasonable end". Okay maybe it's not Austen-worthy but who cares :-D

Posted by sillyme Mar 23rd 2007

HAHAHa take that tabloids!

Posted by siriusly_in_love9 Mar 23rd 2007

learnt? you mean learned?

Posted by pigwidgeon Mar 23rd 2007

no, learnt is correct. but learned is becoming more acceptable.

Posted by MimbleWimble Mar 23rd 2007

well it would be stupid of them to quit now, especially since they are making enough money to lie down and eat grapes for the rest of their lives:-P and also it would have been odd if they'd replaced one of them XD

Posted by purplepeopleeater92 Mar 23rd 2007

Smashing news.

Posted by chaibabachai Mar 23rd 2007

that's so great to hear!! It wouldn't be the same without all of them playing their roles, and same for all of the other characters(knock on wood that they all stay on also). I think there would have been this empty space if things had changed for the last two films haha.

Posted by SCPGOH_ad24 Mar 23rd 2007

YAY!!!! it would in no way shape of form be the same

Posted by sagarkhushalani Mar 23rd 2007

that is the best news i've heard since the deathly hallows release :D yayayayayayayayayayayayay ayayayayayayayayayayayaya yayayay!!

Posted by razzamatazza Mar 23rd 2007

GOOD. It would be so weird if they were replaced. Unless one of them dies, no one should be replaced!

Posted by ickle_diddykins Mar 23rd 2007

This is bloody brilliant!

Posted by sillyme Mar 23rd 2007

honestly, i don't think anyone is actually planning on leaving. the tabloids just write about it for ATTENTION.

Posted by GryffindorLioness Mar 23rd 2007

YAY!!!!!! That just made my day, I'm so happy they are coming back!!!

Posted by _GryffindorGirlxo Mar 23rd 2007

Whoot! It would have been so wierd if someone else played Harry or Hermione or Ron since we've become so used to Dan, Emma and Rupert.

Posted by K8y Mar 23rd 2007

Whoo-Hoo!!! I'm soooooooo happy right now! The trio finishing the series - couldn't be better! :-) By the way, everyone, Dan is on 'Friday Night with Jonathon Ross' at 10:40 on BBC 1 in the UK!

Posted by adorkableredhead Mar 23rd 2007

oh, thank god!

Posted by Padf0ot Mar 23rd 2007

Yay!!!!!!!!! Finally.....if they hadn't been signed on, the movies wouldn't have been the same. I mean, I'd still go to see them, but probably just to see how bad it turned out. Dan, Rupert, Emma rock!!!!!

Posted by MionePotter15 Mar 23rd 2007

WOOT!!! *does happy dance* I was a little worried there when Emma did'nt sign right away. That's over *phew* and hopefully the next two movies they make are gonna be great. The chemistry would be thrown off if one of them wasn't there.

Posted by benmanu Mar 23rd 2007

that's the best news of the year. rupert, emma and dan, all deciding to stay, good news. very good news. what else to say? hum, glad that they'll come back till the end, the spirit of harry potter's movies is still there with them in. good news again.

Posted by oakshaft79pn Mar 23rd 2007

i personally think that alll the humming and hawing on the actors part on whether they would return was to increase there pay. it would obviously hurt WB if any of the actors dropped out. so if they acted as thought hey werent sure,WB would be scared of losing them and would offer them better contracts. I wonder how much emma and rupert get paid, they only ever state how much dan is paid, (which is by the way, a ridiculous amount for how little he can act.)

Posted by Grey Mar 23rd 2007

the anticipation was killing me...NOT! Of course they would come back! They would be crazy not to come back!:)

Posted by Chungsol Mar 23rd 2007

Two words: THANK GOD. I love them to death.

Posted by lonewriter Mar 23rd 2007

that is good news. It wouldn't of been right with another actress playing Hermione.

Posted by hermione1996 Mar 23rd 2007

Posted by Avalon Mar 23rd 2007

Jeeez! What good kids!!!Ijust love them and am so proud of them!

Posted by jess_1818 Mar 23rd 2007

Thank god! I wouldnt have watched them if those three were not playing the roles!!!!!!

Posted by oakshaft79pn Mar 23rd 2007

Iam glad of there return, i would have hated it if any of them were replaced, but im more of a hp FANATIC of the books. the movies(3 and 4 especially) just didn't measure up. I know i could have made all the movies better, but the books, the books are the most amazing things in the UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! I want to go to hogwarts so bad that it is a constant ache in my chest.

Posted by Rice12345 Mar 23rd 2007

Posted by Harriet_Lily_Snape Mar 23rd 2007

YAY!!! I'm so happy!

Posted by IAteUmbridge Mar 23rd 2007

YES! I am so happy right now! I feel like crying for some odd reason. This is so wonderful. I was watching the Special DVD for SS the other day, and Chris Columbus made a comment that went something like "One thing I really look forward to in these films is being able to see all three of the stars mature together. Maybe that will never be able to happen, and maybe it will always be just a dream, but I think that would be great." And it's actually happening! Yes!

Posted by RuSirius Mar 23rd 2007

Finally! Im so glad that emma and rupert signed! i was so nervous that emma wasnt going to come back but now im so happy!

Posted by goodgyal Mar 23rd 2007

wh00! go dan, ripert and especially emma!!

Posted by Yossarian Mar 23rd 2007

That is excelent!!!! I dont think there is anybody better to play those parts, and having them signed to contracts is great!!! I am so happy to hear that those three will be back!

Posted by severus69 Mar 23rd 2007

O HAPPY DAY, this calles for celebration.

Posted by professorhagrid Mar 23rd 2007

I'll admit I wasn't particularly impressed by any of them way back when I saw the first movie, but I've kind of gotten used to them, and now I really couldn't see the characters portrayed by anyone else (wheter I like it or not, it's true) I think they've come a really long way as actors, especially Dan. I had a feeling they would do all seven, but it's good to know it's official now. Definitely looking forward to seeing them in movie 5 this summer, and in the movies to come. (But not nearly as much as I'm looking forward to book 7, obviously)

Posted by harrypworshiper Mar 23rd 2007

you guys are my HEROES. Dan, Rupert, Emma, we couldn't have done it without you!

Posted by rh_victory175 Mar 23rd 2007

OOOOOHHHHHH MMMMMMYYYYYYY GGGGGGOOOOOOODDDDD! I am having the greatest day ever!!!! I was so worried that those rumors about Emma were true. What would Harry Potter be like without Dan, Rupert, and Emma?

Posted by MichelleLynn Mar 23rd 2007

im SO glad that it's official now! i was pretty sure emma would do it, but now that it's official, im really happy. there is no way these movies would work without all 3 of these actors in the remaining 2 movies. this totally makes my day! :)

Posted by m_bml Mar 23rd 2007

What a relief!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Soras_Best_Buddy Mar 23rd 2007

Yay!!!!!!!!!! I was worried Rupert and Emma wouldnt be back!! I'm glad they'll continue to play the trio!!

Posted by rlthomas Mar 23rd 2007

THANK GOD! me and my friends werent even going to see the last movies if the original tio wasnt going to be in it!

Posted by LittleKikay Mar 23rd 2007

WOOOHOOOOO!!! yes, the trio will be there til the end!!!!! I'm happy now :D....especially since there's been rumors about Emma leaving, good to know that she's staying, I wouldn't have been the same with any of the characters leaving/changing. :DDDDDDDDDDD

Posted by dragons_melody Mar 23rd 2007

i think im going to cry , yes they will be coming back , no more stupid rumors , yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay !!!!!!!!!!

Posted by hpintwense06 Mar 23rd 2007

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is very good news! I am very happy that they all agreed to come back and had good things to say about their work.

Posted by silverphoenix21 Mar 23rd 2007

Well I'm definitely glad they're back. I can't even imagine the HP movies without Dan, Emma, and Rupert.

Posted by the_halfblood_princess Mar 23rd 2007

YAY! I was so afraid that Emma would leave! I'm SO happy they're all staying. The films wouldn't be the same without them!
