'Deathly Hallows' cover art released!
Scholastic and Bloomsbury today both revealed the covers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!- United States Children's Edition - view here

Bloomsbury also announced today that the UK edition will be 608 pages long. As previously announced, the US version of the book will have 784 pages, making it longer than GOF. However, the UK page count makes DH shorter than the British GOF (which is 636 pages long). We presume this is due to an increased font size for the US version.

UPDATE: Arthur Levine, the US Potter editor, spoke this morning on the TODAY show about the American cover:
"We're seeing Harry in a very interesting situation. Readers will find out exactly what the situation is.
"When I was reading it, I had both the excitement and the power of the book, and the plot, driving me forward. But I was also feeling a little sad. It's the last time."
When Levine admitted he "sobbed and sobbed" while reading Deathly Hallows, he was asked the following:
"That means someone we like dies, doesn't it?"
"Well, it means it is a very, very emotional book," he responded.

This confirms it, the "Deathly Hallows" refers to the Horcruxes.
i think the 'Deathly Hallows' refers to the place where voldy and harry will finally meet to battle...i thin its behind the veil and that the us version is behind the veil..in that being the shadows the beings who have passed on through life..which means sirius might be there..i think what gives the idea about hte veil is the curtainy thingymabob...but i could entirely be wrong...
maybe the cuts on harry and hermione's arms are because they had to give blood. like dumbledore and harry did to get that other fake horcrux...
ya ... if harry dies (i think not!!!!!!!!!!!!!) it will be a lotr monent from the uk children cover hes unwilling 2 sacrafice himself so kreacher pulls him into the veil then again i think thts a penseive. (of course we leaned our lesson about tht in HBP)

BEST COVER ART EVER FOR ANY BOOK! The cover for the US is extroadinary. Harry looks so hot and perfect on the cover. The back for US book is also great...Voldy looks perfectly sinister. still talking about childerens cover if you look closely you'll notice that it is NOT Ron holding the sword but whatever creature (house elf would be my guess) is on harry's back is holding it!

OMG. this is exciting. i like slytherin's locket, too...

IT'S THE END! IT'S THE END!!!! *sob*, at first I started jumpin and screaming "THE COVERS ARE UP!" but then I saw the US cover entirely and I started crying, it was like if I had already finish the book, now i am in denial "you know what?...maybe I dont want to read it nop I am not going to read it because I don't want it to end.... ;_;
not to offend anyone, but the UK cover looks gross. Harry looks like he's a chubby 45-year-old, and he's growling. ron and Hermione look stupid, and it annoys me that the treasure is so colorful and bright when the book is making the editor sob.

well i think that this book is described as emotional..not just by the sadness the characters and the readers feel...but other emotions too such as anger harry will feel towards snape...voldy and deatheaters...eagerness to destroy voldy..unhappiness from having to leave the comfort of the burrow, scared, etc...oh and probably romance too lol.....there are going to be a lot of emotions in this book that will create an amazing atmosphere to the plot
American version's Harry is hot.....he looks like Dan....wait! Dan IS Harry.....hmmm.....OMG IT'S DANIEL RADCLIFFE/HARRY POTTER *girly scream* *drools* YAYAYAY!!!! UK kid's version loos like Kids Going Nuts In The Gringotts Employees' Safety Deposit Box....LOL! UK Adult cover doesn't really WOW me like the US cover, however. Interesting that when i read the comment by Little_Nightmare about how it would be pointless if LV doesn't Die, for some reason i remembered Dumbledore saying that only by Fighting, and keeping on fighting that Evil may be Kept at bay, though never completely gone (Or something along that Line), and I was thinking....I'm PRETTY SURE that Harry Potter will NOT have a Conventional Ending where Evil is Thwarted forever, yet I'm sure she's gonna end the Novel in a way which doesn't allow it to bem Picked up and continued. --- So maybe LV dies, but another Horcrux exist? nah, that'd leav quite a wide opening for continuation... I'm thinking the only way this could be achieved is by Redemption, and I don't see how that would happen...

ok everyone.....i know that some people dont like the uk version of the book cover...however i get hte impression that everyones just given it a first glance and straight away said ' uuurrggh nah that wont do' or something like that because its not what they thought it was going to be...i think peeople are just taken aback by it and as it isnt what they thought it would be like, they dont like it.... i mean i was quite taken aback when i saw it but i looked at it in detail and gave it a chance and i like it......im not trying to change peoles minds as everyone is entittled to their opinions, but guys dont hate it cos its not what you thouhgt it would be...give it a chance first and think and look at it in detail...and im not trying to critisize anyone so dont take this personally or anything...just think about it more before turining it down....

I really like the UK adult... but I always buy the UK kids, and I'm not a fan of that one... too bad. I think it looks way too bright and colourful for what is apparently such a sad book
hermione on the front looks like emma watson. the silvery blue treasure on the front is armour. the armour on the left is a chest plate and the armour on teh right is a helmet. can this be the armour that borgin wanted from hephibiza smith?????//

Comments on the US cover: Who is watching them? Are those Death Eaters or the Order? Both? It doesn't look like the crowd is fighting each other in any way. And, it's daylight... somehow I thought this battle to end all battles would happen at night. And what is that around Harry's neck? Comments on the UK cover: Definitely a house elf or a GOBLIN holding that sword (has red on the handle... Gryffindor's?)... a goblin would make sense considering it looks like they're in Gringott's (plus how many times have we heard in various conversations the words "Goblin Rebellion" and how much the Goblins want more freedom to use magic?). However, the thing is definitely green, and we know that Dobby would be an ally of Harry's. After all, Dobby didn't get his freedom for nothing, I'm sure.

I like the US version. UK kids version is so/so but I'm very impressed with UK adult version. Very sleek & elegant. Well I thought UK kids version.. very.. kiddie but interesting too if you look closely. US version.. VERY interesting. I mean, I think they don't have wands because their wands cant fight, remember? And where are they? & if you look closely.. there's people all around them watching! AH.. it's all soo puzzling.. but FUN. I defanitely can't wait.. !
guys..yes im posting again.....not to be like really perstistant or anything..but when people say the uk version is too vibrant for such a 'sad' book...when you say sad did you all get that from the idea that the book is supposed to be emotional????? just curious cos sadness isnt the only emotion that can be in the last book...in one of my earlier posts i gave examples of emotions charcters will go throught and probably the readers as well as we are cast into harrys world once again...like anger of snape, fearful of the upcoming events, love for ginny and other charcters..so dont say the uk version book is wrong because the book is meant to b 'sad' cos the vibrant colours maybe used on purpose to show the emtions of hope for the outcome of the book......

WOW. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! cant wait. At first looking at the cover for the US edition, I thought : "wow. thats erm.. wow. doesnt look much like the other ones.." but then I realized that, hello, it must be something of a scene in the book. I can draw a conclusion from looking at all of the covers thats theres some sort of arena maybe? the trio will be in some sort of room with jewels. there's something happening in the forest. and of course, we learn something about the locket. as harry is wearing it in the US edition (dont know if he's wearing the fake one or the real one), and because the adult UK version, centers itself to the real locket. interesting

i really dont like the orange spine on the uk version. it looks to much like halloween. love the back though. very nice. the way the dead tree is positioned and the clouds gathering it almost looks as though death or decay is encroaching on hogwarts

I am so excited it is is unbelievable!!! There is so much to decipher on each of the covers that I don't even know where to start! I am so happy! Yay! I can't wait fot the book! And Levine said it was very emotional book and I have a feeling I will be crying by the end of it too!

There is the scar in the UK version, but not in the US version - what does that mean? Does the UK one shows the scene before the US one? What happens that Harry's scar is disappeared?
