I just noticed: the UK Children's cover has the same orange-yellow colored clouds just beyond that doorway, which i believe is the veil outline thingy... i also think that perhaps Harry, Ron and Hermione are being pulled/sucked into it based on the way the coins are being tossed everywhere. that most likely is... Kretcher behind Harry. It could also be Dobby but I believe that Kretcher has something more to contribute to the books, be it good or bad contribution. OK I just had a really strange idea: what if Voldy planted all of that gold and stuff there and it was all a pile of things that looked like the possible horcruxes, just to draw Harry there? lol ok that sounds very strange and I am not even sure if I believe what I just wrote! but I've been studying this UK Children's cover for a long time now and that is the best theory I could come up with lol. Now off to analyze the US cover more closely......

My God, these are brilliant. I'm completely enthralled by the US cover - obviously out of these 690+ comments, someone else was bound to notice the little brown bag of sorts tied around Harry's neck... curious, very curious. :D And the UK children's cover! Oh my gosh, they look like they're in a Gringott's vault or summat, but I'm probably way off the mark on that one. Jeez, these are incredible. Made my morning waking up and spotting these on the news.

The US version is pretty cool and I got excited when I saw it, but truly, the words matter more to me than the art

Yeah, Harry has three hands in the UK cover. OMG is Harry going to turn mutant? And judjing by the US cover's color, Harry will triumph. Gold is a color of victory, while on the back voldy's cowering away like he's lost and he'll die and Harry is reaching up to grab a very important thing from God or something. God, this does look symbolic....

Dobby is freeeee! (On the UK cover, that its.) At first glance, on the UK kids' cover, I thought Ron was Neville. And now its obvious its Ron, but he looks incredibly like Rupert Grint. Funny how things turn out that way. And I've just now realized that the silver stuff on that cover is armor... I'm almost positive they're at Gringotts. Or a dragon's lair. Just kidding. The US cover looks amazing, though. I can't wait for this book!

Awesome! Looks like Slytherin's locket will be the "main" Horcrux of the story. It'll probably the last one Harry needs. Or second to last. I'm guessing he is trying to get the last one with Voldemort trying to stop him in the cover.

it looks freakin AWESOME! i like how there are curtains on either end, like in the first book. and i find it interesting how they both have no wands, Harry has some sort of necklace on (the locket?) they are in a stadium like outdoor area with broken ruins/wood, and the colors remind me of a Halloween/fall setting, which is interesting because that is when James and Lily were murdered. Hmmm....many interesting tidbits to analyze over the next few days! Joy! :D

Dragon_queen4ever, I would definately not be surprised if there were a Horcrux in Gringotts - nice theory! I've never speculated much on the locations cause it seemd a bit fruitless but now we've got the covers, that Gringotts thing makes sense, assuming they're falling through a vault. And xxgen, Halloween! I thought of that too! I wonder if that was a coincidence, or maybe the scene GrandPre drew for the cover had specifics like the sky color.

In the US version I don't think that they are reaching for something, I think they are killing a threat. I'm not sure but, think it might be Snape (though I think Snape is good). He did kill Dumbledore... a threat to Harry and he betrayed The Dark Lord... a threat to He Who Must Not Be Named. Or they could be fighting something together (though I dought that). But I don't think they are reaching for something. But who knows? We will all know in July.....

On the UK cover, Harry sort of looks like Napolean Dynamite! OMG that made me laugh! His teeth just look SO much like Napolean. And why are they like exploding out of some thing with a bunch of coins?!?

Dragon_queen4ever, I was wondering the same thing about the locations. But I think Hogwarts was too close to Dumbledore, and Voldemort wouldn't have risked hiding a Horcruz there... the Riddle House belonged to his Muggle family, who we all know he despised enough to murder them heartlessly. Doesn't seem a good place for a Horcrux, what with it being in the middle of a Muggle town. What I was thinking is that there has definately got to be a different place, most probably one we haven't been introduced to yet, which would be one explanation for the page length as well, as it takes loads of explaining to get Harry and his friend to places in the Wizarding world - as we saw in book five. Grey: the (alleged) house elf on Harry's back is holding the sword, not Ron. Look closer, it took me a while to notice that too. :D

Also, the ring was in one of these places, (possibly) and something tells me to make a horcrux, is as complicated as a felix felisis, or why wouldn't make one every time he murdered some one? Unless, 7 IS a mgaic number.
