That treasure might be from Hepzibah Smith, and that armour might be hte goblin made ones Young Voldemort came to inquire about before he saw the locket and cup (neither of which are featured on the UK childrens). The orange sky on the US version is also in the Arch that trio are infront of on the UK, perhaps it is beyond the veil (I doubt it but, it's definently beyond an a arch), and(US) Is Voldemort reaching for Harry with his lowered hand!?! and(UK) Yes there is something holding onto Harry and brandishing a dagger, maybe Kreacher? And is that Harry or Ron's leg above Harry's right shoulder? Kind of painful position if it's Harry and Ron's legs kind of seem to dissappear on the UK version.

er... not so sure about these actually. in the uk kids one it looks like harry's got fake tan!! it just looks way too... i dunno, happy. although it does have loads we can guess about. all the red and gold makes it seem very gryffindor-orientated... some sort of inheritance maybe? i really like the adults one though...

did anyone else notice the thing that could be the 2 way mirror on the right? it's above the helmet with the dragon on it...on the right theres a face and then on the left theres 2 faces...we think it could be Sirius's mirror...well half of it and the armor on the left has a reflection in it...if u look sideways it looks like fawkes but if u like fwd it looks like a snake...maybe thats what theyre looking at in the room --and as for the us cover i like the theory that theyre both reaching for fawkes...maybe he has their wands or something since they have his feathers in them

UK cover is too much colorful for a serious (or as A. Levine put it, "emotional,") book. The US cover actually has a cool touch....the handwritten DEATHLY HALLOWS on the cover. Looks great that way!

In the UK cover, I think that's Dobby piggy-backing on Harry holding the sword, not Ron.

In reading some of the posts here, I have to agree with the majority in that on the US cover, Voldy and Harry are BEHIND the veil and the shadows are the Deathly Hallows. Makes sense. But...is the only way to go through the veil in the Ministry of Magic? If so, what brings them to the Ministry of Magic? Could a horcrux be hiding there? If so, how did Voldy get it there? One of his Death Eaters? Lucias perhaps? So many questions!!!! On the children's UK cover: That I believe is NOT Dobby, but Kreacher. Kreacher must do as Harry instructs, this is why he RELUCTANTLY is obeying him. Evident of him cowering behind Harry. If it were Dobby, Dobby is too exciteable and would trip over his own feet to help Harry, he wouldn't hide....why are all three of them looking in different directions? What is up with all the jewels, galleons, gold plates and chalices? I believe the final battle will not be done with wands at all, rather Harry will find every horcrux and destroy them. In doing so, depleting Voldy of his very essence. Voldy himself will be left to destroy. Both Harry and Voldy are behind the veil and I believe that they will BOTH die. Think about it, once you are behind the veil, there's no coming back. If you could, why hasn't Sirius come back? Just my observations...

UK Version Has anyone noticed there is a SNAKE in the coat of armour ??? Also below Harry´s right arm (there is something blue, with a face and maybe a Snake ..). A mirror ???? ANd has anyone pointed out this guys are too red ? Like if something was on fire or they were running ??? Harry´s robes are ripped and have mud. Behind the archway they are being sucked the colors are again orange, yellow and red....fire ??? My theory up till now could be that is the COS in Hogwarts and Hogwarts is on Fire ....lol! Don´t kill me .... we are guessing right ????? The Forest does seem to be on fire...I forgot who mentioned it, maybe it was you Elda or Granpa.... And the colors in the UK version are scarlet and gold... but the contents of that place seem to be a treasure belonging to Slytherin...mmmm, from the Snake in the coat of armour. I am of course probably wrong... In the US version Voldie has a strange look. That hand turned out to the left...mmm, and to me it is for sure the Chamber of DEATH in the MOM. The roof could be enchanted like in Hogwarts the Main Hall is (forgot the correct name). And the curtains could be reflecting the sunset... I don´t think it has to be the exact colour....... and the archway was almost destroyed when Harry saw it... it fits the descripcion PERFECTLY... And those people there.... I don´t see Dementors or Inferi sitting there watching LV and Harry duel.. could be death Eaters, but if they are behind the VEIL (which I think they are... they are surely death - ghosts or whatever... why not deathly Hallows ????? ) :I stick to my theory... they are the spirits of those people that have either fallen behind the veil or being killed by LV. I am of course probably very wrong...lol, I like that idea for now...

Something to think about: IF Harry and Voldy are behind the veil, what brought them to the Ministry of Magic? IF they are behind the veil, they are BOTH dead. There is no returning once you've gone through the veil. Sorry for reiterrating....but those are some good points.

The US cover looks like it's on a stage or something with the curtains like that .. maybe in the book they have a harry potter play at the end of the book about how he defeated voldemort!?!?!? I know that's crazy but meh..

this is my 4th comment...im glad everyone is stating different things b/c its making me realize a couple of possiblities which is really exciting...its amazing how much more we can guess about the book by just looking at the cover lol...everyone keep it up!

I believe that Harry will not come out alive. I believe that Harry will weaken Voldy by way of destroying all horcruxes except for Voldy himself....until the final battle. The US version depicts Voldy as being 'sickly'...they will kill each other in the end. It's kind of ironic though, the one thing Voldy fears the most will be what he experiences (death) and the one thing Harry yearns for the most will be what HE experiences (to be with his parents). Why else would the US editor be so sad about the story?

Harry's scar will fade after each Horcrux is destroyed (Harry's scar is basically invisible on US cover) and Voldemort weakens after each piece of his soul is destroyed. So the US cover may be showing Harry reaching for the final Horcrux and Voldemort is screaming "NOOOOOOO!!!!" Then Harry somehow kills Voldy and then Harry's scar disappears forever. Harry will live! OK?! I'm not changing my mind- Harry is going to survive.

OK. Where is everyone seeing Voldemort? I do not see it. I think the US cover is a bit plain, but very beautiful. The UK kid's cover is a bit extravagent, but it's fun to look at and analyze. But seriously...everybody keeps saying how good Voldemort looks. Where is he?

alright. i am an idiot. i found the complete US cover. voldemort was there. obviously. ah well. it really is very pretty. well now we know what is behind the veil eh? i did not think that harry would die. until now really. i am quite excited.

I love the new cover. But like when every book cover comes out I study it hard and close. I've printed a picture of it and have ended up with many outcomes. The figures of people in the back ground may be Death Eaters. No one can really be sure but...they have cone like heads so they are obviously wizards in hats. I've never tried to figure out if Death Eaters wear wizard hats or not. The wall around it looks like some kind or arena walls. I've been to an arena in Rome (not that HP is in Rome) and they have walls like the walls behind Harry. Harry looks very wor out and looks like he's really concentrating. I compared my worn out looks and concentrating looks to his and they look pretty much the same. He is not wearing black Hogwarts robes, they are brown so he probably is not going to go to Hogwarts. We have pretty much figured out he probably isn't but I'm just pointing it all out. You don't have to believe me but here's a nice fact: I'm a professional HP slueth. I wrote an essay about sluething in the HP slueth book called "The Plot Thickens...Harry Potter Investigated". FYI that book is before the sixth. I'm not bragging but HP sluething is my hobby along with other HP stuff. The authors usually do not read the full text of books usually, but it's just my guessing. And I worked all night on this so just leave a thanks if you're kind! ;-)

OMG, The book cover looks AMAZING. It looks like Harry and Voldemort are dueling in some sort of ring or arena. Also, there are shadows of people in the background, death eaters perhaps? Or maybe Hermione, Ron, and the rest of the squad. OR even the OOTP crew. This cover makes me more and more excited, I can't wait to read it. I might DIE waiting for it!

@hanna_at_hoghwarts and everyone else who thinks that harry and voldy must be dead because they are behind the veil: I think the question is: Can Voldemort die if there is at least one horcrux left? (for example the locket around harrys neck?). Perhaps he doesn't die because he has still a horcrux and so he can go behind the veil without damage. And the same with Harry. Perhaps he has also sth like a protection (perhaps still is mothers enchantment) which prevents him of his death.

I'll be the first to say that I've never much liked the UK versions of the covers, but in this case it just seems to reveal more of what happens. I just hope I can make it to July, because when I saw the covers, I just about died of happiness. Can't wait to hear what the Mugglecasters have to say about this.

EvaGo (and anyone): do you really think its a locket around Harry's neck? it seems to me like a leather pouch. it obviously cant be THE locket; it looks nothing like the horcrux locket on uk adult edition. well, i suppose the illistraters could make them different but it would at least have an S, right? im guessing its the fake locket left by RAB. maybe at the point of the illistration (i wrote something earlier about it most likely being the final batttle scene) harry hasnt found RAB yt. that would be unlikely tho if its the final battle. more likely that this locket is signifcant to harry & he is keeping it because its basically what dumbledore died for? i can see that. anyway why would harry have a leather pouch? that just sounds like some rip-off 'jinx protection' shiz that was being sold in HBP. plz someone agree/disagree cuz i feel like arguing/discussing NICELY lol.
