Is the Canadian edition the US version (just Harry on the cover) or like the UK childrens edition? I'm assuming the US, but I'm not completely sure...and is there a US childrens AND adult version?

In the UK Version it looks like Ron is holding the sord, which I think it MIGHT be Gyrfindores, it has the red thingu handly. It also looks like they've all got cuts and bruises on them, so obviously they've been in battle or had to to duel or something. I love the UK Version, so happy! The blurb is interesting too, the OotP coming to collect Harry again, oooh!

FINALLY!!!!!! Is it July yet??? I WANT TO READ THIS BOOK!!! The cover just makes me want to read it sooner than later. Where is the time machine so we can get the book earlier!! Someone needs to invent it really quick, get the book for all us Mugglenetters and let us, and only us read it in advance. Awsome covers. I'm ony guessing here, but I'm thinking Voldemort and Harry are reaching for a wand that may have been blasted out of their hands, and the first to get the wand may be the ultimate winner, and by the looks of the cover, that's going to be Harry, he looks closer, although you NEVER know...

There's a video on the MSN homepage of the Today Show revealing the US cover, although all the US childrens covers are different than Canada's! I think we get the UK edition, for whatever reason (*and we miss those before the chapter pictures...)

OMG!!!!! I love it!!! Although I must say, orange was the last color I guessed when I was trying to predict the cover the other day. I was going for dark red/maroon. But that's totally ok! (And the UK adult cover w/ the locket is pretty sweet)

OMG OMG OM!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! It looks like Harry is throwing something into the air, but there's nothing in his hand! I've been wondering this for several years: what's the difference between the adult and the kid versions???? Oh I t's amazing I started screaming when I saw it lol/ I can't believe this is the last one......*tries to comprehend*

The US cover is obviously the other side of the veil and the dark figures in the backgroud are all the people who've died who are important to Harry (and perhaps people important to Voldemort too?). They don't have wands because we'll find out that was the whole point of learning non-verbal spells, the next stage is Harry producing magic without a wand. I guarantee this is what's happening. On the UK cover, Dobby has the sword because Harry realises he needs it and summons the house-elf, telling him to get the sword from Dumbledore's..sorry, McGonagall's office. Harry will use Gryffindor's sword to kill Nagini, like he killed the basilisk, the sword will crumble. In the veil room, Harry will manage to disarm Voldemort then he will shoulder-charge him into the veil itself, leading to the Deathly Hallows and the final showdown.

I can't believe the cover is out already!!!! I would have thought, maybe in April! This is sooo awesome!!! and Harry is wearing the locket!! I can't wait to read about that in the book, I bet Harry appears before Voldemort with the locket around his neck and maybe some of the other horcruxes, as if he's saying "boo ya". Voldemort probably says some choice words at the sight of it. In the UK children's cover, is Ron holding Gryffindor's sword?

I like the covers but the UK version looks like they're treasure hunting or something. I really like the adult version but those books come later to the book shops. I think it's gonna be a really exciting book. Can't wait!!!

OK - I just finished seeing the US and the UK covers - I definitely liked the US cover and the UK adult cover-the locket looks really cool....the children's cover is yucky....since when does Harry have bucky teeth?!?...and what? did they fall into a vault or something? I can hardly wait for the 5th movie and book 7 to come out...my July will be super cool this year! yeah!!!!!

Okay, after many hours of careful studying of the covers here's what I think the US cover means: they are beyond the veil! Note the way that there are curtains drawn back in the corners. The color of the sky is almost surreal. There are figures in the background. I think that they are all people who have fallen through the veil. This "Death Room" must be the only place that Harry can kill Voldemort. And then why are they both looking up? This one I really can't even try to take a guess at. And also Harry is wearing something around his neck. Can anyone say Slytherin's locket?! It's so perfect, remember when Dumbledore was wearing the ring after he got rid of the Horcrux within it? I think Harry is pulling a Dumbledore here. Or maybe there's some special magical reason why they have to wear the destroyed Horcrux? And then the UK's kids cover: this one looks they they're trying to find something within the treasures. The trio is all bruised and scratched up, as I would only expect. But, I must think that that is Kreature on Harry's back. It fits so well with the "Kreature was with Regulus Black when they went to get the locket Horcrux" theory. Kreature probably didn't want them to get rid of it when they were cleaning Grimwald Place, so he took is somewhere to hide it. And of corse, they would have to take Kreature with them to show them where they go it. It all fits so perfect together! And the UK adult cover obviously shows us Slytherin's locket. This must mean that this Horcrux has some special significance (more than the other ones). Why else would they put this one on the cover? This just makes me more excited to get the book! Only 114 days until the end of an era. I'm so emotional right now, just think how I'll be on July 21!

OMG! I'm starting to get sad even with just the thought of the series ending. I've been waiting forever to find out what happens, but I know I'm going to miss the feeling of anticipation. I guess now, I won't just be crying because it's the ending of the series. I guess the story is going to make me cry too.

Hey everybody if you've noticed, the hand clutching the sword is too thin for Ron's and if you look carefully you'll see a hand holding on to Harry's right shoulder (left for us). And there is some thing that looks like a house elf's head behind Harry. It's probably Dobby. I can't believe I found something.

I just thought of something - what if Harry is wearing the locket as a defense mechanism? Voldemort will not want to destroy the Horcrux. If he knows that Harry has destroyed all the other Horcruxes, he will want to make sure his last one is safe. Maybe Harry has put it round his neck so that either Voldemort will not kill him for fear of destroying it, but if he does die in the battle, the final horcrux will go with him! Harry said himself in HBP, that if he does die, he will try his best to ensure Voldemort goes down with him.

Do you think if Snape is killed that could be classed as 'the big death' or would it have to be someone like one of the trio or Hagrid? Even though Hagrid is hardly in the later books (well, his role isn't as important) I still think his death would upset a lot of people more than if it was, say, McGonagall or even Lupin. Granted, Lupin's death would upset the Marauders fangirls (you know who you are), but I think it could be accepted easier as part of the story. Hagrid being killed would seem unnecessary.

wow, i honestly...... well when i first saw the picture, i was like, "this can't be it! how could it be?" i was TOTALLY expecting a dark cover. but i guess i can understand the lighter colors used - to me they mean victory/triumph, happiness even. man....... going on my first reaction, i really didn't like the cover. i was like, "ok, this is not the real one, this is just the fan created contest cover or something like that" but man.... i donno if i like it yet. hopefully it will grow on me.

I don't hink voldy and Harry are fighting. They are loking at something. Sheilding thier eyes from it? It seems to be at Voldemort's eyelevel... Harry has to look up. Or are they casting a spell (could it be) togethter? they are n't finghting each other at that very moment thats for sure...

ok i just looked at the today show video and then relooked at the american edition at 25% zoom to see the whole image and this is what i noticed harry is looking up to either cast a spell or catch something voldemort is looking at harry but doesnt have his hands toward harry but at something in front of harry unseen almost in a defensive mode. also in the uk childrens version i think thats dobby or kreacher on harry's back holding a sword it looks like they are falling into a room maybe a vault at gringots remember what they said that gringots was the safest place to store something next to hogwarts that would also explain if they where breaking into gringots i could see them getting all cut up. harry's arms as well as hermione arms are cut as ell as harry's clothes when will we get a mugglecast discussing the covers?
