MuggleNet reviews 'Deathly Hallows' (or not)
Happy April Fools'! We hope you enjoyed our prank this year. Judging by the comments, if it showed one thing, it's that most people will read Book 7 spoilers if they can get their hands on 'em (though, admittedly, we did make our "reviews" somewhat hard to avoid)!

Check out the joke at the link below.
Last Sunday, we received a very, very surprising call from the Harry Potter publishers. They wanted us to have a preview of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As you can imagine, we were utterly flabbergasted. We, just like you, weren't ready to read the book, but we couldn't pass up that opportunity, now could we?

There's a catch. The publishers requested we only inform them of our thoughts on the book, and not post them online. But we really can't do that to you guys! Only a few of our staff members have so far finished it, and a little glimpse at their feelings can be read below. More will be added throughout the day. Enjoy... and shhh!

**Spoiler Alert**

"Dumbledore's triumphant resurrection, complete with the gaudy descent from the heavens on Sirius' motorbike was completely and utterly unnecessary...but at least we now know where the motorbike actually is and the significance of where it went after Book 1." -Brendan

"I couldn't believe Snape was the long lost love child of Aberforth and that goat. It explains so much, including Severus' appearance. And we now know why he told Harry to never call him a 'cow'-ard, because he was in fact part goat." -Micah

"It was great to find out what happened to Ollivander. I loved it when he walked into the Order meeting wearing a pink Hawaiian shirt, a straw hat and sunglasses and received a room full of blank stares. It was particularly funny when Lupin turned and said, 'Well, look who decided to show.'" -Andrew

"I always had an inkling that there was more to Hermione; her immediate knack with magic, and her irregular mood swings towards supposed 'friends,' Harry and Ron. I should have known she'd switch to the Dark side eventually. I just wish she hadn't killed the whole of Ravenclaw in the process - I suppose it was just her annoyance at not being sorted there initially." -Ciaran

"Funny how things turn out, who would have thought Ron would become the ninth member of The Weird Sisters. Ron with long hair and living the rock star life? Shocking!" -Rachel

"I couldn't believe Harry slipped on a slice of carrot cake and fractured his pelvis. I thought it was uncalled for humor in an otherwise serious and superb book." -Jamie

"I never thought the wizarding world would get their revenge on Snape; however, I commend JKR for proving me wrong. The Order using spells to hold Snape down and wash his hair multiple times was the worst kind of punishment imaginable for him." -Mandie

"So Dudley's worst memory when attacked by the Dementor was being told he had to diet." -Nick

"I still laugh every time I think about Draco and those geese. I guess it's not just sleeping dragons you're not suppose to tickle." -Natalie

"Who knew that J.K. Rowling would employ the use of the often-frowned-upon literary technique referred to only as 'the dog ate my homework gag,' when justifying the location of the seventh Horcrux?!" -Eric

"I was completely shocked to discover that Cedric Diggory has been alive this whole time, getting his laughs in by standing behind the veil and whispering. As for Sirius... all I can say is after a year of making that thing flow in the wind, Cedric was in need of a 'Sirius' snack!" -Laura

"The symbolic revelation that Dumbledore is actually an Animagus living in the form of a bumblebee does not do much to disprove the theory that Harry Potter is a children's book. However, after Voldemort's tragic and gruesome death caused by the shift in gravity and the moon falling down to earth, crushing him beneath it, I'm pretty sure this is a book mothers all over the world will be keeping far away from their children." -Roni

"I should have known that Luna was Harry's mother Lily in disguise. They're so similar to each other!" -Emily

"Well, we all guessed it ages ago but now it's finally confirmed - Dumbledore is the Giant Squid!" -Becky

"I knew it! I knew it! When the Muggles came and totally obliterated everyone at the final battle, I was totally ready for it. Although, I admit killing every major character in the series was going a bit overboard, especially when Neville got hit by that bus after all was said and done. I didn't know JKR had it in her!" -Tom

"Seven books, countless hours, and many tears, just to find out that Harry defeats Voldemort not with love, but a Muggle handgun?!" -Rachael

"I can't help but cry each time I think about the dramatic return of Sirius Black and how he died again only seconds after being reunited with Harry. And I never would've thought Neville would be the one to wake up at the end and realize it was all a dream. Good one, Jo!" -K'lyssa

"I think this is the first time I've ever seen corporate sponsorship of a novel. I was, quite frankly, startled by Jo's decision to make Voldemort's eight (yes, EIGHT) Horcruxes be hearts, stars, and horseshoes, clovers and blue moons, pots o' gold and rainbows, and a red balloon. Even worse were the subtleties throughout when Ron would say things like, 'This Horcrux hunt is magically delicious, Harry!' Honestly..." -Ryan

Mugglenet´s joke was so much better than that of the leaky cauldron´s. That was just a sad one, tragic and even though it´s supposed to be taken as a joke, the thing they are joking about is probably going to happen to many fansites pretty soon, including leaky....;(

Posted by lairyfights06 Apr 1st 2007

LOLS!! OMg you actually had me for a bit there! lols... oh you crazy people! (With weird and slightly upsetting imaginations!) "Snape is part goat!" love that Micah! lols... I do agree that LeakyMug was waaaaaaaay funnier! lols :-) Still, HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S EVERYONE!! :-)

Posted by Rosacra Apr 1st 2007

So cruel of you all! I clicked the page away the second i saw something about Dumbledore being ressurected. I was like 'Wtf? How's that possible, JKR said he wouldn't pull a Gandalf!' Honestly, i was quite angry at myself for reading past the spoilers alert. :P Then, after like 30 secondsm, i realized that it simply couldn't be true, so i went back to Mugglenet and it took me half the page (!!! Yes, I'm too stupid to be true, i am not worthy...) to realize its the 1st of April. You got me! Silly me, brilliant you! ;)

Posted by Hippieelfchic Apr 1st 2007

"This horocrux hunt is magically delicous Harry!" hee hee.

Posted by granger1019 Apr 1st 2007

I looked at it last night and I was like "OMG, I have to stay away from this page!" then this morning after church I got home and I decided just to read one quote. Right then, it hit me. APRIL FOOLS!!!

Posted by lilkid13 Apr 1st 2007

I thought at first that this was real until i remembered that it was april fools day!!!

Posted by TheDivaDivine Apr 1st 2007

lame and childess. Totally did not fool me but I had a feeling that you fooled many others. Once you indicated that you were annoncing the spoilers I knew this was a joke. A very bad one in execution and design.

Posted by deatheater777 Apr 1st 2007

i believed the whole thing untill i read the comments, almost cried thinking it was real but it wasn't! that was great!

Posted by lgeorgel Apr 1st 2007

Posted by fantfreak Apr 1st 2007

I couldn't finish reading these!

Posted by heather23renae Apr 1st 2007

well when i got home last night from prom, i totally bought it when i read the title. And i was like shweeet! but then i remembered it's april fools day so I was 97% sure it was a joke. Then you said how you weren't supposed to share it with us but you were gonna anyways... well then it was up b/c Scholastic would KILL you if you shared it. lol. But i like how you keep adding reviews. Makes it funnier for some reason. And even though I only bought it for about one minute, it's still friggin Hilarious!!

Posted by GABZx3 Apr 1st 2007

OMG i read like 3 revewis and then is tarted crying that i spoiled it for myself...and then i went upstairs and was looking at my hp calender and i saw today was april 1st ...and i waslike F*** THEY GOT ME!!! and then i startted crying more , but of happieness. ( i have done it with gof ootp and hbp this one i will NOT spoil)

Posted by hermione1996 Apr 1st 2007

i have 1 thing to say ok to thedivadivine TAKE A JOKE!

Posted by FlippingTonks Apr 1st 2007

SO much better than Leaky's joke.

Posted by amara Apr 1st 2007

this really wasn't funny at all. the first part was good (before the spoilers), but i think you should have put something serious for the spoilers, then told us tomorrow that it was a joke.

Posted by fantfreak Apr 1st 2007

I completly fell for it, I didn't even realize it was a joke until I posted a comment on how bizarre it was(see above) and cried a little. then I went about reading other peoples comments, and finally realized this was mugglenet's version of an early April Fools joke, and that they put it on the day before so that we wouldn't get it right off. NOW I FEEL REALLY, REALLY STUPID& GULLIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by SiriusGirl Apr 1st 2007

WHY is everyone saying 'you had me going' instead of 'you tricked me'? It's getting annoyingly repetitive... Also, am I really one of the few who didn't fall for it for a second? I'm actually surprised some people believed it, considering what the 'spoilers' were. I would understand forgetting what day it was, tho. Also, wouldn't it be funny if Jo read these and used them? Especially the goat one...

Posted by americanidoluver Apr 1st 2007

OMG u had me for a minute, i even believed the snape goat one! then i realized it was april fools day and smacked myself...........i am such an idiot! pretty good one, i actually believe it is better than last year's cuz i ddint believe last year's one for a second...........it was waay to impossible.............

Posted by Floydswall Apr 1st 2007

Well, I'm very dissapointed. I was hoping for this great gag when I remembered it was April 1st today and I was like "yes, mugglenet here I come!" I got here, and, what I get is all this silly stuff. It would have been great if you guys did some serious statements, really get people going. It would have siriusly been funny. Another thing to make it more believable is to make the text black so folks would have to highlight it, as is done with all "spoilers". I miss the days of the leakymug merger. Alas, there's always next year. :-( ...0o0o0o 0o0o0o0o0o0o0o...

Posted by dm_hpcrazy Apr 1st 2007

LMAO,.. the additions are insanely hilarious!! :D

Posted by GABZx3 Apr 1st 2007

WOW of course i picked to read 3 actually logical ones! if i read any others i would have realized right away!

Posted by Potter_Fan Apr 1st 2007

LOL You guys r TOOOOO funny! lol.... but i have to admit... last years April fool's was awesome too!!! P.S. I LOVE Mugglenet! can't wait for the mugglecast on THIS one.. lol

Posted by f0rtunecookie15 Apr 1st 2007

ohh wow. i was reading the spoiler stuff and i was like, NO. WAY. can this stuff happen. at first it seemed plausible, but then it started getting ridiculous and i was like, duuuuddeee. this sounds horrible. and i was getting all worked up and upset about it and then read the posts and i was like, OHMYGOSH. april fools. i completely forgot. niiicceeee oneee. (:

Posted by magicgirl_rulz_4eva Apr 1st 2007

i want news....

Posted by mrgrawp Apr 1st 2007

OMGOSH You guys really had me.. It wasn't until I read the comments that it hit me. Man you guys are good. Grrrrrr... I was wondering why the publishers didn't immediately order you to take it down. Awwwwwww.

Posted by Quantummilkshake Apr 1st 2007

rofl. wow. i can't wait to read this book!

Posted by Quantummilkshake Apr 1st 2007

rofl. wow. i can't wait to read this book!

Posted by GreyWolf Apr 1st 2007

Make it black text!!!!!!!!! I DONT WANNA READ IT!!!!! MAKE IT SO U HAVE TO HIGHLIGHT IT!!!!!!!

Posted by SiriusGirl Apr 1st 2007

"Posted by TheDivaDivine 14 minutes ago: lame and childess. Totally did not fool me but I had a feeling that you fooled many others. Once you indicated that you were annoncing the spoilers I knew this was a joke. A very bad one in execution and design." Honestly! Don't call others 'childish' until you can SPELL it correctly! Just because you didn't fall for it doesn't make it bad- other people did, and even though you and I and some others didn't, it was a SUCCESS. So don't get mad at Mugglenet and criticize their work, they tried hard. (Although last year was better)

Posted by GoGoGryffindor Apr 1st 2007

i actually believed that for like five seconds then i was like woah wait it's April Fool's Day. i liked last years better though. this was good. *applause*

Posted by thenewfaceofxevil Apr 1st 2007

Haha Happy April Fools to you too guys!

Posted by DeathlyHallows92 Apr 1st 2007

Wow, my heart stopped beating when I read that you guys had gotten to read it so early. Then I was srsly trying to decide if i wanted to read the spoilers. I decided to only read the last one. [luna is lily in desguise] And i was like Woww, stop wait what? Then i was reading through all of them starting at the top. It took me till the cake one to remember that it's april fools day. Congrats on the great prank. You got me.
