Scholastic's Knight Bus schedule announced
Back in March, Scholastic announced their promotional plans for Deathly Hallows which included a Knight Bus tour. Scholastic has now released the dates and locations for their 37-stop tour along the East Coast of the United States. From the press release:
In each location where the bus stops, fans will be invited to board the Knight Bus and share on video their thoughts and feelings about the Harry Potter books. Select video clips from each location will be uploaded for viewing and sharing on http://www.scholastic.com/harrypotter. Additionally, each person will receive a unique username and password so that they can view their own video online.
You can find the tour dates right here on Scholastic's website.

Since when is Chicago, Cleveland and Los Angeles on the EAST COAST? or maybe I'm dumb and didn't get it.

I've submitted my rant here in a more educated and polite format to Scholastic's feedback on their website. Apparently, they are dedicated to following through with feedback inquiries, so if you are interested in asking for more locations or even another bus entirely to service the children of the US in this ONCE IN HISTORY event, please write them a detailed email through their feedback service.

Great idea, heartnut! I'll go do that right now...

OMG. it's coming to San Francisco and Oakland! I have to go! AHH. i'm so excited. but i'm scared too. i don't know why! Does it really look like the knight bus??!?

Posted by britishbelle Apr 11th 2007

Hmmm Not quite East Coast or else I'd be able to go since Florida should be included in East Coast...thats more like cross country since it is literally going through Chicago, St Louis, Phoenix, and LA.... Darn it...they had me excited about it too...

Posted by sticky Apr 11th 2007

NNNNOOO its in the usa....i live inthe uk...aarrggghhh

Posted by sailorprincess6 Apr 11th 2007

UGH! I live in the 'midwest' ugh ugh ugh fine i guess it won't come here!

Posted by MeNotHer Apr 11th 2007

First time i have EVER been near a HP event. It isnt the closest library, but its in the same county. Plus, by the time it gets to me school will be out!

Posted by jens Apr 11th 2007

Florida never gets anything.. Too Bad!! To everyone else who gets to go HAVE FUN!!

Posted by OldMrToad Apr 11th 2007

Ah! But sailorprincess6. YOU have Jo, and Charing Cross Road and the real Hogwarts Express and Kings Cross, and Edinburg and all the stuff Harry. A 'country wide tour', I would think should include the entire country. At least the lower 48 contiguous states, if not Alaska and Hawaii too. Good luck to all you who do get to see this phenomenon. Have fun and tell the rest of us all about it. (take photos, if you can.) OMT

Since when is San Francisco on the East Coast? I blame global warming.

Posted by Tabatha Apr 11th 2007

Posted by OldMrToad Apr 11th 2007

I'm sorry sailorprincess6. I read you remark, and somehow read you're in the UK. To all those suffering in the UK, read the above. Mumble, mumble, gotta learn to read. mumble. OMT

Posted by july21tillhp7 Apr 11th 2007

i could go to a few of them =)

Posted by kittyblossom Apr 11th 2007

To AGUADALUPITA: not all libraries are free...some require a montly/annual fee, others require the consumer to live within a certain district...anyway... I wish this tour thing came somewhere near me...argh, you lucky people, i'm so jealous!

Posted by Inferi596 Apr 11th 2007

YES!!!! this is HP SUMMER and it's gonna rock! kickin' it off with the mugglenet tour in canton then this one a weekish later in parma!

Posted by crumple_horned_snorkack22 Apr 11th 2007

Yay!! It's coming to a library like 15 minutes away from me!! Also, the Saturday before that, Mugglenet is going to be at a bookstore like 10 minutes away. It's weird, I live near Washington D.C (THE NATIONS'S CAPITAL) and it seems like we still never really get anything.

Posted by gredandforgeluvr Apr 11th 2007

that is soooo cool! i live in that area so i have to go!

Posted by harrypotterfan3000 Apr 11th 2007

I'm trying to go to as many HP events as possible before the series ends. This is going on the list. I'm not too far from NYC so I'll try that one.

Posted by Rach Apr 11th 2007

Aww... Nothing EVER comes to Canada. I feel so exiled, lmao. SO NOT FAIR. EVERYONE IS BIASED TO THE US! (No offense to those in the United States... I just mean that everything good happens there :D)

Posted by Ch0pS_93 Apr 11th 2007

uhg this is so not fair!!! they said the trip was for the EAST coast and they added california and other places and excluded FLORIDA!!! nothing ever happens here!! grrr im soo mad!! :(

Posted by hmrpotter Apr 11th 2007

heartnut, I got a response back from Scholastic: "We truly appreciate learning of customer reactions to our products and promotions and have forwarded your comments to our corporate headquarters in New York. We thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us." So I guess that means, uh...no.

Posted by Quantummilkshake Apr 11th 2007

grrrr. yeah come to atlanta you jerks. they go four times to california and no times to the south. NOT FAIR!

Posted by Glubad Apr 11th 2007

It's in my area, but of course, my parents have work. Boo. And it's so close. How irritating.

Posted by Why_Here Apr 11th 2007

Why isn't there any in Texas? Texas has a great bit of Harry Potter fans; Dallas or Houston would be excellent places for them to visit. (Or little Whitney, Texas. ;) ) Ah well. I think I'm in England buy July 11th anyways(I'm going there this summer! Whee!) So I'll see. Still; it would have been nice to see a real life Knight Bus. xD

Posted by ronhrfreak Apr 11th 2007

I can't believe they aren't coming to Dallas! I really wanted to go! Oh well, life goes on...

Posted by dobelieveinharry Apr 11th 2007

they're coming to the library across from my school!!!!!!!!! i'll so be there right after i get out of finals early :]

Posted by American_Patriot Apr 11th 2007

I know the midwest is really boring and bare, but Colorado is the exception, it goes east, skips middle, then heads out to west. Wow, I feel good.

Posted by aruegunk Apr 11th 2007

Theyre finally coming to St. Louis for something! This makes my sad looking summer that much better :) Keep coming to the Midwest! We miss out on so much!

Posted by witch_in_training Apr 11th 2007

Woot! Maricopa County! Good thing I looked on the list. I wasn't going to when I saw that the article said East Coast. But they ARE coming to my county!

Posted by hpgirl_91 Apr 12th 2007

First Emerson and Ben and now this! Thank merlin for San Diego stops in the Harry Potter most awsome summer ever!!!

Posted by mugglecast_fan Apr 13th 2007

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! It comes THE DAY before I get home :( It's so close, yet so far.. whyyyyyy????????? :'( :'( :'( I'm going to ask if I can move my plane tickets up a few days, this is SO not happening.

Posted by MuggleTowne Apr 13th 2007

And why are there no stops in Miami, FL...DISCRIMINATION!!!

Posted by hooked_on_Harry Apr 13th 2007

I really can't believe they are driving right through little rhode island on june 4th!! ! sad part is they are coming from 10 - 12 (?) on a school day to one library- about 10 mins away. but the good news is, they stop at another library about 20 minutes away from 3 - 5 pm. so , do i skip school, or go later? Such decisions!!! I know i'll be at one of them for sure!

Posted by sexyi86 Apr 13th 2007

Ahhh! They're stopping at the library i live down the street from! Awesome! :D

Posted by _code_red_ Apr 14th 2007

east coast my ass, they go from Virginia to Ohio then to the West Coast

Posted by mighty Apr 14th 2007

I'm surprised they skipped the south, northwest and most of the midwest. I say send an e-mail to Scholastic and ask them to come to where you are, if your city is excluded. I know darn well they have to drive thru my city to go from St. Louis to the west, so they COULD stop if we said pretty please enough times (I hope).
