OOTP to have 3D finale
WB says, "The last 20 minutes in IMAX 3D will add a new element of excitement to the Harry Potter experience, making this a must-see for fans of all ages. We're looking forward to a long and very successful run."
The IMAX Co-Chairmen mentioned, "We couldn't be happier to help bring this Harry Potter film to life in a new way. IMAX theatres are the only place to experience this year's most anticipated movies in the world's most immersive format, and we anticipate that moviegoers will want to enjoy Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix featuring scenes in IMAX 3D more than once."

"IMAX theatres are the only place to experience this year's most" So will the movie ending be 3D everywhere, or just IMAX theatres? :S None of those in my country :/
WOW!!!!!.... I'M DEFINITELY GOING TO WATCH OOTP THEN :p ... MMMM ... TOP 1000000000????
That's awesome!
Yay! There is an IMAX theatre 30 minutes away from my house. I am so excited! I hope they have a midnight screening.
Awesome!! I so want to see it in 3D!
I so want to see it in 3D now!!
Dang! Too bad the IMAX theatre in my city closed down. *grumbles about people who couldn't be bothered to see an IMAX movie once in a while and keep the place open* UGH.
I'm not too bothered. If it looks good normally, than that's good enough for me. However, I am a little bothered that the 'closing scenes' will be the MoM battle, as it is the aftermath of the battle - Harry in Dumbledore's office - which has a lot of important information and bits on Harry's character (AKA CAPSLOCK OF RAGE, which might be amusing, to say the least). I just hope the really important stuff doesn't get swamped by WB's misconception that the films need to look uber-flashy to be any good.
I hate to be a pessimist, but isn't the last part of the movie focused on the prophecy? Considering how important that scene is to the series, I would've thought that a lot of emphasis would have been placed on it, so the battle b/w Voldemort & DD may not be in 3-D... hopefully I am as woefully wrong as Humphrey Belcher...
Wow! That is soo awesome...too bad the nearest IMAX is about two hours away......oh well, I shall go anyway! :P
I start working for IMAX on Harry Potter next Monday. I'm glad they officially announced it. It's a bit of a double edged sword though because I'll be seeing what will be the most exciting part of this film before I see the entire movie. But that in no way compares to the excitement of working on a Harry Potter film! We even get an advanced screening, I'm assuming, since we had one for Superman last summer. I can't wait! We do sign confidentiality agreements but I'll keep you guys posted as much as possible.
WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATV IS SOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!!!! NOW I MUST FIND OUT WHERE AN IMAX THEATRE CLOSE TO ME IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT, IS IT ONLY ON THE FINAL SCREENING OF THE MOVIE???????????????????
harrypottergeek thats what i thiought, i mean the battle bit will be awesome in 3D but does this mean theyre just gonna miss out all the explanation?
Upon reading that, I think I just had a- uh, nevermind...nice. This is the coolest bit of movie news I've gotten in a long time! Now, I must finds me an IMAX theatre!
i'm such an ignorant but how does 3d in cinema actually work? do we get to wear the kind of glasses with one green and one red lens? :D sounds luna-ish ;)
ohhhh my god. and yes ChatNoir you need glasses to view 3dimensional cinema. but WOW..... um speechless???
You do need to wear glasses but they aren't the old school red and blue lens type. Technology has progressed since the 50's. They are just clear lenses. The difference is one lens lets in regular light, and the other polarized light. Both kinds of light are projected on screen but each eye sees only one. That is what creates the 3D effect. If you didn't see Superman 3D last year go see Harry Potter in 3D. It really adds another "dimension" (sorry for the pun) to seeing a film. I hope eventually they start doing this to entire films. I have read before that Lucas was going to be re-releasing all the Star Wars in 3D. So we'll have to wait and see if it happens.
That's so cool!! AHHH I can't wait!! I definitely going to see that. That's going to be awesome.
umm... 3D doesn't thrill me, in fact it usually makes me feel rather trippy. sorry lol. just give me the movie regular style and i'll be ok ;-)
um, COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG thats so cool!! :O woooow but i havent got a clue if there is an IMAX near me iv actually never even seen one lol, i only heard of it cuz Seth in the OC talks bout it alot lol do thy have thm in England??? i wanna goooooo! =D
Depressing. we don't have those things here. I hate when things like this happen, when only the americans and some others gets to do a bunch of shhh I could never dream of doing here. Life is so unfair.
IMAX theatres are incredible, but I'm not sure that there are any around where I live.
I love only a bus ride away from the IMAX theater! I just can't wait! It's gon' be hot! WOW! And I can't wait to see Dan Rad!
Wow! im going to the printworks in manchester to see it, its the best imax cinema ever! GO THERE!
I'm a little old to be impressed by that.
AWESOME! I want to see that in 3D!!!
Lumos: aahhhh awesome...gawd..now i have to see it in 3d as well.............he heh he he he he imax cinema here i come!!!!!! Nox
That's kind of weird I'm not sure I like that.
Sweet! XD I just saw my first 3D movie last night. *rolls* It was cool, I can't wait!
Ok well there is an Imax theater about 20-25 minutes away from my house but I know it will be packed because of this so I think I am going to watch the movie first at my local theater and then a couple of days later go to the Imax to see the end in 3D, sounds like a plan to me. This sounds great!
Yes! I am going to see the movie in 3D even if I have to walk. Never mind that the closest imax in another town, im going!!! ;)
Sweet, I'm going.
Usually I don't really care about this type of stuff but this announcement actually got be a bit excited. I think if they have done the battle part correctly, it will look awesome in 3-D. At first I was planning to see it couple of times and go to IMAX theater that is an hour or two away from where I live. Then I realized that I was going to be in London for a couple weeks during the movie and book realease (I will be attending Sectus) and while I am sure that there is an IMAX theater somewhere in London, I hope I don't get lost trying find it.
This movie is going to have the highest view and sales of all the Harry Potter films especially when they are adding this 3d concept. I can't wait. I have a rehearsal dinner to go to when it comes out but I plan on going to the movie right after the dinner! This is going to be very exciting to see how they cram 800 something pages into 2 hours. Does anyone else think that they should have done something with rita skeeter at the end of the 4th movie? Like showing her in a jar with her glasses on and Hermione holding the jar? I think this would have helped the ending a little.
Yippee. *sarcasm* I have a lazy eye so I can't see 3-D movies and stuff. I either see the movie in blue with red lines or the movie in red with blue lines. It pretty much sucks.
^^^ Omgosh. I just realised my sister has a lazy eye and that means she wont be able to see it. its cos one eye sees the red and one eye sees the blue- she can practically not see with one eye. oh no- shes not gonna be happy. standard cinemas it is!
thats awesome! i really wanna go see it in 3D now!
I'll probably be the only person unhappy about this, but I hate 3D. I don't know how well they'll do it, but just knowing that movies like Spy Kids has used it turns it off. Plus I wear glasses, so that'll be... fun.
