OOTP to have 3D finale
WB says, "The last 20 minutes in IMAX 3D will add a new element of excitement to the Harry Potter experience, making this a must-see for fans of all ages. We're looking forward to a long and very successful run."
The IMAX Co-Chairmen mentioned, "We couldn't be happier to help bring this Harry Potter film to life in a new way. IMAX theatres are the only place to experience this year's most anticipated movies in the world's most immersive format, and we anticipate that moviegoers will want to enjoy Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix featuring scenes in IMAX 3D more than once."

wow. for some reason i thought 'animated 3D'. and i was like. noooo. that's weird. but i get it now (:
That's so exciting! I can't wait!
*FLAIL* WOOOOOO!
Cool! Will you please stop telling/saying how hight up you are!? It gets REALLY confusing!
Top 60! OMG like totally! We really don't care what post you are... okay, anyway, so is this like with the weird glasses or what? How can they only do that for the last 20 minutes? And is this for all the versions or just in this particular theater??? Confused!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I live in Serbia and I won't be able to see this. I am sorry now, but I really have to go and kill myself. Later (Shot!)
did someone just say that they were in the top 60 right after i posted?!
i'm not so sure that i like the 3D idea.. it's cool and all, but not for harry potter movies.. 'll just stick with seeing it in a normal theatre.
Noooo you guys are thinking red/blue 3d I dont think that's what they use in IMAX because normal 3d is available in normal theaters... : | it's gonna be awesome and look realistic I believe 3D goggles at IMAX theaters are like battery operated and not cheap blue/red ones :)
3-D?? thats bloody awesomee!
That's really cool. But what are they going to do--disrupt the film with a "please put on your glasses now" message or will you just have to wear them the entire time/put them on when you think you should? I saw a movie in 3D with the polarized lens and it wore my eyes out (wearing them over eyeglasses is pretty annoying), so it would be a total pain to watch the entire movie with the glasses on! (And an even bigger annoyance to hear/see a message about putting the glasses on.)
I'm going to see it in normal theaters and not the IMAX for the premier. I just want the original experience.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that sounds so koooooooolllllll!!!!!
Thy closed the only IMAX in my country before even CoS came out. Stinky! I hope they have a 3D version on the small(er) screen
I'm so going to my local IMAX theater now to see it!! Hm, it might be super crowded though that night... o.O Whatever-- regular theater it is then!!
OMG SOOO COOL!! I have to see it!!
wow im def. going to imax then sounds amazing... yay for 3D! =D
That's going to look really tacky... as alissa said, movies like Spy Kids use it as a gimmick to draw audiences to a crappy movie just to see the 3d parts. Harry Potter doesn't need to patronize people, it's not a children's story even if it is ABOUT children. Look at HBP. Half the book was talking about snogging and what Harry would want to do to Ginny if they were alone... little kids don't really think like that. And GoF got a PG-13, so it's kind of obvious that the films are getting to the level of more mature films. The 3D just kills that and reaffirms to all the HP haters (including those that think LotR is better) that yes, Harry Potter is a kiddie book/movie. ~ Dogstar
OMG 3D!!! I can't wait till it comes out!!!
how about in regular loews/regal theaters? will they have the last 20 mins 3-D there? I really hope so...
OMG dats soooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooo cool!!! i wanna go see imax now!! lyl ly
That'll be worth driving the two hours to the nearest IMAX.
OMG!! That's awesome! I'm kind of afraid of 3D movies, but this'll be worth it, I'm sure.
I'd love to go to an IMAX cinema (not just for a 3D experience, but it's suppose to be a lot better then your average cinema). I've never been to one before. The nearest one is 1.5 hours away. -_-''
That'll be cool if they pull it off. Happy Feet was supposed to be in 3-D at the IMAX, but they ran out of time and didn't do it. A bunch of us all dress up in costume and go to the midnight showings of the HP films. It's so much fun, but soooo tired the next morning.
Hmmm...IMAX is a long drive from my area...not very keen of the freeway...but still worht a shot! =] 3D??? how do they do that??? Wow. the only 3D movie I've ever watch is...wait! I've never seen one! lol!
Well this is new....
Oh, yeah,,I forgot...PS:TO STICKY Thanks for your support about the Dan-thingy! Oh gosh..I was expecting a lot of other people accusing me for being too rude lol!
thats pretty cool, i just hope we dont have to wear those stupid glasses. they are quite uncomfortable
I'm no big fan of 3D either, but sounds interesting, despite it's been used for not-so-good movies. The final battle in the atrium in 3D? Hmmm, Hmm could be cool if the image artists are as good as they should. Let's just hope spectacles don't complicate the viewing.
SWEET! THAT WILL BE SO COOL.....the Voldemort vs. Dumbledore battle will be so cool!
Many years ago in the first superman they tried very hard to have the last flight in front screen in front of the audiences. The gave up. IMAX will need a big truck to bring all the money. I will go see the regular film, and if it is good. I will put down the cash to go to the IMAX just to see what it looks like. Much more interested though in if its a good movie.
The Final Battle in 3D! That's great! But what about fans in India? We don't have IMAX Theatres here... :-(
I just found out that we do have IMAX Theatres in India, but we just have three and I can't go to any of those places...they are very far from where I stay... :-(
This is awesome! But I'm having mixed feelings about it :/ Since, like alissa, I wear glasses too. Hmm.
PoA had its flying Dementors, GoF had the over-long dragon scene. This is just another way of extended/hyping the actions scenes in the books. I know they're doing it for the money and the look of the thing, I still just hope the story doesn't suffer. Last film I watched in 3D was 'Meet the Robinsons'...and it didn't have much of an effect, I wasn't all that excited by it. Well, the effect will probably be different in a live-action film, I guess....
cool i have to see it!
sounds good. i also want to know how the glasses thing works. will they really give us 3d glasses to wear? sounds kinda lame lol like spy kids 3d. i thought at imax they didnt require 3d glasses for 3d movies? but darn i cant wait for this movie and even more for the book!
lol cant u say words like d-a-m-n in this forum? i typed it in my last post but it was changed to "darn" ^_^
That sounds cool. Pity my local IMAX is closed - not that it ever opened properly, lol. But how will viewers know when the 3D part starts? And will Harry and DD still have their scene where DD shows Harry the prophacy?
wooh!!!!!!! i can't wait!!!!!!!
darn! We don't have IMAX in Ireland. Will the 3-D be on the DVD?
That'd be weird though. ...Only that one part of it. It would just ruin the effect of the movie for me.
AWESOME!!!!! Okay first of all in regular 2D-that's cool!! But in 3D (and the battle sequence) WOW!!!
i cannot wait to see that movie IMAX style, i'm pretty sure i'll have a heart attack...! I'M SO EXITED!
ooooh, 3-d
That is so awesome! i can't wait to see the film in 3D and normal! why don't they make a version of the whole film in 3D? that would be cool...
Ummm... 3D finale? Wasn't this an issue before with another HP related thing? I don't remember what exactly it was, but I remember something like this. Personally I'm not a fan of 3D things. It seems kind of tacky. And "A treat for all ages"? I thought OOTP was going to be PG-13 like GOB? -Shrugs- Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
