this is awesome IF he is for sure the director. places all over are reporting that he IS FOR SURE but this post sounded like he wasn't entirely confirmed. that's kinda funny. now they HAVE to haha.
i hated alfonso. I loved the way he got all the great shots of the castle ans grounds, but it seems like he put more emphesis on that thenthe acual storyline! what ever happened to crookshanks? the mauruarders?? argggg! and now david yates is screwed because the 3rd movie didnt explain it properly! plus, i really hated the way they made the dementors from poa. i imagined them to look mostly like the things in lotr. no, there was even a picure of them on one of the chapters and they looked almost exactly like the things from lotr! so alfonso has no excustes for that one! and dont get me wrong, i loved gof, but he cut wayyyy to much out. that was comeplely unacceptable. and yeah, it was funny and great but to me the feeling of the movie was totally seperate from the book. and it also seems like the humor used for the movie mostly came from mike newell, and not jkrowling. so with that said, props to david yates. im very satisfied with the amount of things he managed to squeeze into the movie and from what i've heard and seen so far it looks like it might just be the best one yet. and i think he will do hbp justice as well. The only critisizm i can come up with for ootp so far is that they said in one of the reviews that instead of moody showing harry the peice of parchment form dumbledore that tells the adress on grimauld place, he like, banged his cane against the grounds and it appeared. wtf?? like seriously, theres no excuses for this one. it would have taken the same amont of time (or possibly less) to show the paper! but i also think the dementors look better this time around. well ive jabbed on enough i think. its really great to get that off my chest.

Hey FYI Ivo, THere were moving portraits in Gof, just very rare, which i could care less really. The moving pics are mostly noticeable after the 1st task when everyone is rooting for Harry in the common room, you see some wizards in the back picture cheering too. I mainly like seeing the pics involved with the crowd like that, not doing their own thing, cuz it takes the viewer away from the focus of the story, kinda like distracting us or rambling.
yay, it looks like david yates is a good director, biut Ill have too see ootp
also, stop fussing over every little thing, if someone leaves a line out, half the fandom world freaksout! (yes, I am one of them, buts that not the point!))
oooohhh, i just can't wait for OotP!!!!!!!!! I really think this one is going to be a huge improvement over movies 1-4, you know what i mean? yay. uh-huh! I'm glad David Yates is doing movie six because if this movie five turns out to be as good as the trailer makes it look, we will desire nothing else, and will see only our happy, smiling faces in the Mirror of Erised!!!! cool thing that everyone already knows, but i feel like posting it just for the heck of it -- ERISED = DESIRE backwards! just like STRESSED = DESSERTS! so, connection: when you're stressed, EAT DESSERT! (that includes chocolate -- i think being attacked by dementors certainly counts for being stressed, so that's why they always eat chocolate after the dementors come -- it makes them feel all better!!
By the looks of it, Phoenix will be a good movie. I hope Yates will direct the 6th and 7th movies. =)
Alfonso will hopefully do DH. If not, Yates will be great too. At least we won't see Mike Newell cutting the good stuff out or Chris Columbus treating the Trio like little kids again!
down with yates up with cauron
The trailer does look promising, and by the looks of it, the screenplay/director did the book justice. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
HeadlessSeth: No, Yates looks amazing. Though Cuaron did do a perfect job, Yates looks very promising. Perfection!
Ew; Cuaron was an absolute terrible director. He didn't even include simple things that would have been easy to incorporate in the movie and lets be real; at the end of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban [book] Harry Potter did not fly off into the sky. Harry also got the letter from Sirius saying he could go to Hogsmeade. All in all Cuaron was absolutely terrible. Newell did exceptional, and did well considering how messed up the third movie was.
