My thoughts go to the girl and her family. BTW, Jo is so generous. I wish other rich people would help too instead of just keeping all their money to themselves. All celebrities should learn from her

omg i can't believe you are actually blaming the parents some of you! In England this story is all over the news and has been since poor Maddie was taken! The parents were dining in a restaurant NEXT DOOR to their apartment and were checking every half hour! This family are suffering enough without people who don't know the story well enough commenting on how they should go to jail! Give support and prey for her safe return and stop blaming, put yourself in their shoes for a moment! Yes good for Jo but also well done to all the holiday makers, police etc who are doing all they can!

This truely anoiys me, yeh no one deserves what this family is going threw, but who in there right mind leaves a child alone in a strange country, or even your own country, while dinning out, even if it is next door, yeh its great that shes getting all this help from celebs, but what about other families that have this thing happen, i have had my daughter kiddnapped she is 14, and it is costing thousands and thousands, which i dont have, and have borrowed from whomever i could, and its been 2 months plus since ive seen my daughter, so i do know what this family is going threw, but i am still mad at them for leaving her, my daughter just had her birthday, which was the first ever i missed, and mothers day with out her, it is hard, i dont have a day without crying, but i have two other kids, i have to be strong for, and i have to still try work, so i can pay back the money i've borrowed and still live, sorry for ranting, but this subject is kind of touchy to me, i do hope they find the little girl safe and sound,

I obviously hope Madeleine is found, but the parents were irresponsible to leave a three year old and two two year olds on their own in an apartment, especially in an unfamiliar country. And how many kids go missing but don't have celebrities appealing to the public for their safe return?

I can understand how some of you are thinking how IRRESPONSIBLE it was of the parents to leave their child, but they did and they did so with some trepidation(Some friends said that it was a safe enough area) Don't forget that someone has had the arrogance to conceive a plan to kidnap the child, knowing full well that the parents weren't there, they would have had to have known they we're checking every 30mins so they would have been watching, probably all day! There have been claims that this isn't a paedophile, but someone working in the black market, for made-to-order children! Lets just wish Madeleine Mcann is safely and rightly back with her loving parents and family and give our full support to anyone else trying to help to conclude to that outcome! If know one was doing anything you would be complaining all the same, JKR is trying to HELP, and you cant trash someone for that!!!

Okay, fist of all I agree with a lot of you. Millions of little girls and boys go missing everyday from their parents and honestly, what makes this girl so special? Yeah, I know that is an insensitive thing to say. Also, if it was a pedophile, I understand what they are doing is gross. I think it is disgusting. They are ruining a innocent little kid's life. When you are a kid that is when you are care free and innocent and to bare such a burden as having someone molest you and rape you is just something that a child should NOT go through. They have no started puberty and they know little about the sexual world. But please, some pedophiles out there have been molested before themselves. I don't hate pedophiles, I just believe they are very messed up sexually maybe because they have been molested or raped before. It makes you wonder though.. Who was that one person who wasn't raped or molested who started it all? Though, society will cast him aside, call him a monster, and they will not get that person the help they need, so the cycle will continue of molestation and raping becuase we aren't doing anything about it. Why? Because people are afraid of doing the exact same thing he did, and that's why we separate ourselves from him. There is a Hitler and a Mother Teresa inside all of us and we are all capable of doing the same bad and good things.

Ok this might sound totally heartless and people will probably have a go, but hundreds of children go missing, why is this one any different so that people like JKR need to give money? I mean, this is one that could have been avoided, if the parents hadn't have been carelss enough to leave her alone in the apartment in the first place... However, I hope she does return home safely and my thoughts are with the family, along with every other family who has had a child kidnapped x

thats nice of her and its kool, but i just wanted to say that this may lead to more kid-napping in hopes of getting money. and a lot of people get kid-napped everyday, so where's their money to find them? just wanted to bring that up.

Why didn't these people employ a babysitter? Resorts have all sorts of childcare options. And that is what bugs me most-the kidnapper(s) had to know the comings and goings of the family. It was planned. So the parents routinely disregarded their children for private dinners. No way in hell would I have ever left my young children in a hotel room for thirty seconds, let alone thirty minutes. A weird environment for the children compounded by (maybe) nightmares or the need for a glass of water with no adult support. Anything could happen. And apparently it did. And again, there are services offered by resorts to ensure that kids are not alone when parents need to have a dinner by themselves. I cannot help but mention that having a vacation at a resort is pretty expensive and I am going with the parents being rich. They don't need donations. It is only because they have money that this is a worldwide news story. Sad. My fondest wish is that the child is returned to her parents healthy and happy. And that they learn a lesson and value their children more.

That's really nice of her to spend her money for a cause like this. My prayers are with the family and girl.

OMG, as soon as i heard about what happened to the cute little girl i felt so sad for her and her family, of course ! How can someone be so mean and lame and steal a little girl !? But anyway, its just soo great to see JK Rowling contribute to such cause. It is REALLY nice of her, really ! I really hope that they'll find the precious little girl quickly and return her to her family
