Yeah, i have to agree with you Ravenclawswisdom. Even though David Yates said that St. Mungo's wasn't important, i still think it is though. I mean, that's the first time you see Neville's mental parents, and Lockhart again (perhaps for the last time, since his memory has only progressed little.) I love Dobby more than Winky though, she kinda annoyed me with her whinying of supporting elf enslavement. But i HOPE that Dobby will be in HBP, i mean look at it. Since Kreacher is Harry's new servant, obviously he's not trustworthy, and many of the secrets of Malfoy and Snape Dobby tells Harry, when Kreacher refuses to tell him. WB should not make Kreacher all nice and obedient when he' s not! He totally HATES Harry. and i hope that WB won't do that cheap alternative liked they did in GOF. it worked when they replaced Dobby with Neville, but this time around it won't, cuz why would Neville eavesdrop on Draco And Snape? Plus, the little fight scene with Dobby and Kreacher should be funny to watch, cuz Harry constantly goes over to them for aid. It just wouldn't be right if Dobby's not in HBP, even if he's not, I'm pretty sure JKR purposely made Dobby important in DH, cuz in the UK children's edition, he's carrying a sword, not Neville, lol! So if David Yates is smart, he would bring back Dobby in the 6th upcoming movie, knowing that he will once again be important in the last HP book.

In my opinion that's way too short for the movie to contain all the amazing content from the book. Order of the Phoenix is the longest book but somehow its now the shortest movie? Please correct me if i'm wrong by saying that.... Why couldn't WB just make the movie 2 hours and 45 mins???? An extra 30 minutes could help the movie so much..... It could make the final fight nearly exactly like the book and it won't be rushed. Am I the only one who thinks this movie is going to be even faster than GOF was?

I think that they took out atleast 1/3 parts when they are talking to Sirius in the fire... and i think that they will like only do one detention with Umbridge, well atleast show only one... and i don't think that they are doing the Beetle at Bay chapter when Rita interviews them and all... i still think that they are going to keep in the important parts. and maybe even add a few of there own! Well, since all the hardcore HP fans are soo demanding, lol, i really think that when they come to video and DVD, WB should make like a Harry Potter 5.1, or Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Director's Cut. Because earlier this year, David Yates said that up until the early pre-screening of the movie in Chicago and other places, OOTP was about 45 minutes longer, and that in the end, he had to lose all of those minutes because it dragged the middle. Then i think since they're too long for deleted scenes, WB should make another edition of Harry Potter with Director's Cut with those 45 minutes in, that should be a special treat and satisfy all those HP purist fans! ;) Sorta like Spider-Man 2.1, Harry Potter 5.1! Who agrees on me with this on? Maybe we should do a petition for this version of the DVD instead of wasting our times complaining in a message board...as if the filmmakers will even care to read them.

I see everyone complaining and not reading other people's comments and no matter what, I understand you will have your point of view. It is frustrating to say something on these comment boards and no one reads it and just says what they want to say, and then you come back the next day and someone says the same thing that the other person said that makes you frustrated. I go through and read all the comments no matter how long it takes me because I love reading other people's point of view and having some of their insight and gaining more knowledge and having more to say on my part. Pheonixknight, about Harry Potter 5.1, that would be awesome! Wait, they cut 45 minutes of material? Wow with those extra 45 minutes we'll have a 3 hours and 3 minute film. Every hard-core Harry Potter fan will want that version of the movie, I wonder what scenes are included in this 45 minutes.

Hopfully people will read what you said, but still they will have their own opinion. Like they all said, these movies are for all people. Everyone will be viewing these movies and they have to think about EVERYONE, not just Harry Potter fans. They have to watch out for the critics too. Do you want them to come after Harry Potter and say how bad of a movie it was? They have to make money off these. Everyone is right though, that the book does drag on and they finally get to the point of the story, but I love those subplots, but I can read them and that's even better than watching them because I have a movie going on inside my head everytime I read a book. Stop complaining and be thankful that Harry Potter can be made into a movie and enjoy it!

Hey, even if the movie was good, and it was Hary Potter I'd fall asleep if the darn thing was three hours long! LOTR was like a dream because i kept on dozing through the middle, and tyyesterday's pirates was so confusing and long, though I loved the movie in general, I was groaning for all the mini Jack spparrows to flop over and die before I got sea sick...

I don't think there should be a petition at all. Just be thankful for the movie. I know I'm going to enjoy it. Why wouldn't we? It came from the book didn't it? I'm glad we get to see these books in live action, so we should stop complaining.

If you look in the "Wall of Shame" this girl has a petition for the Harry/Hermione shippers and she asked J. K. Rowling to write a new book. Isn't that crazy? She had other things too. But.. Maybe a petition would work but would anyone notice? Sometimes people take things too far. I am very happy with the film right now and I don't have a problem with it being that long. You guys can do a petition if you want to, but leave me out of it.

I am going to wait to pass judgment on the length of the movie till after i see it........although it does seem skeptical since the fifth book is the longest and this is the shortest movie, who knows, it might be just right. I say see it first then whine if its too short or not!

Ok this is why I've always said that they REALLY need to start having Extended Edition DVDs like they had for LOTR. This way they can put in all the things they had to leave out for the theatrical release, and all the fans of the books will get some of the smaller things that we've all been wanting to see in the movies from the books. Warner Bros. please consider releasing Extended Editions, because as I have purchased dang near every version of the LOTR DvDs that have been released, I would MOST CERTAINLY purchase any Harry Potter Extended Edition DvDs.

I know Schomookness, i've gotten over it, and i'm willing to apologize and accept too, but she's never replied to me. Yeah there were others, but she was just the most consistent. It's easy to get hurt by people you don't know and sometimes you do hold a grudge but there is no reason to. Why? Because you have no idea why that person said the things they said, and you should not judge them the way they judged you. It's easy to get hurt on the internet and I don't see a problem with taking things to the next level on the internet. It's just like real life expect you take away that physical part and apparently the physical part means a lot to people. It is all emotional for me and the physical is just extra, but I do long for the physical part when I am dating someone online. Not just sex though, like affection and love and such. I'm not that in tune with the physical world, but the emotional and mental world. I am a very emotional person and in the end, it is the emotional and mental part that matters to everyone, though we are animals too and we long for the nice physical body and that nice physical touch. I don't know.. I just feel so different.. It does not matter to me what you look like as long as you are the person I love and want to be with and you have the same emotional and mental status as me.

Good! The book was soooooo overlong. Maybe this means the movie has cut out some of the totally-uneccessary crap from the book. I mean, how many scenes do we REALLY need of Harry showing how OMG!ANGRY and OMG!FRUSTRATED he is? I got so weary of EMOBRAT!Harry in the OOTP book that I had to put it aside for two weeks before I could finish it. It's the only one of the series that I didn't read in one shot.

I don't under stand HP isn't a kids book. Why can't adults and teens enjoy thing that aren't cut and censored? There are enough kids movies out know why do the producers think that every kid in the world is going to go see this movie and can't wait long enough to watch the whole thing? I bet that almost every body whos goes to it haven't even read the book! I am happy with the movie time. This book was bloated and could easily be reduced to POA size by trimming the beginning chapters and Quidditch. Also, I just saw Pirates III and believe me, length of a movie does not always translate into quality of movie. That movie was a bore the first 1.5 hours. This movie seems to have hit all the necessaries even Snape's memory and the Weasley twins escape. Exploring St. Mungos and Quidditch and The Woes of Mrs. Weasley could easily be edited. The problem with Movie 4 is that too much crucial info was in the beginning and they butchered that section of the movie. The same result may be easily avoided in OotP due to the "extra" information.
