Wow!!! That's exciting news! I really wonder why, though... it just seems very strange to me. However, I'm sure there is a reason behind it... Anyway, I'm still really excited about it. There have been so many good movies this summer- Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, and tomorrow night I'm going to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3- hope it's good:)

can someone please tell me if the release date is the 11th does that mean midnight in the period of July 10-11 and continuing all day or midnight from the 11-12? If that made any sense

That is awesome!!!! It works out so much better for me because a friend of mine is getting married on the 14th and I was going to have to fly up for the wedding on the 13th so I wasn't going to be able to go see it until the 16th!! Now I can see it on the 11th!!!!!!!! Yippie!!

That's awesome news!! I guess they thought releasing a major motion picture on Friday the 13th would scare away all those superstitious folk

well we all know why WB is doing this . . . it's a cheap move (not in the money sense though) it allows them to calculate 5 days for the "weekend" which means it has a higher chance to crush Spider-Man 3 and Pirates. Now I really would have thought WB to be more tasteful and show the competition what it means to get crushed with only a 3-day weekend but I guess the executives there are as money hungry as any other company. if it does crush the others it will go down as the summer hit with the 5-day weekend box office. if it doesn't, well then they'll be the laughing stock of the industry. I doubt any of this has to do with the book though.

I not really surprised they want to give opening weekend a few extra days to rake in the money. I figured when the UK date was moved, that US would eventually be moved as well.

am i the only one who is unhappy by this news???? the 13th was on a friday... perfect timing.... a friday having a sleepover after the movie, not having to worry about going to camp and taking care of little kids, but now its on a wendsday... smack dab in teh middle of the week... have to go to camp the next day... no more sleepover... this truly makes me sad! i had my whole sleepover planned already and prepping for the trivia contest with my friends for the book release... but now... thats not going to be able to happen at like.. 2 in the morning =[[[[

hmm..so does this mean that the soundtrack will get pushed forward a couple of days as well? It's currently set to come out on the 10th...usually soundtracks come out 2-3 days before the movie....interesting.

2 Days Early? It's like Christmas coming on December 23!!! But honestly, the longer it the amount of time between OOTP and DH, the easier it'll be for me to have my portrayal of the characters back in my head for the book instead of the movie actors. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
