I'm complaining. I was all excited that the movie was coming out on my b-day and Friday the 13th...now it's not.

Posted by HollyQ May 29th 2007

What about Canada?! If any Mugglenet staffers read this, us Canadians would love it if you could find out for us!

Posted by salsa_13 May 29th 2007

ATTENTION ALL CANADIANS!!! It's confirmed in cineplex.com(a website for Canadian theatres) that harry potter and the Order and the Pheonix will come out on July 11th as well....all canadians, if u want proof go to cineplex.com and click on "movies" then "coming soon" then scroll through the pages and find Harry Potter and the OotP and it says the release date....and i also work at the theatre, so this site is trustworthy but i am mad because july 13 was my b-day, and i had plans for the whole day and now it's ruined....also y would they change it at the last second, i mean there is advertisement every where in theatre saying that its out on the 13th and its just weirs, i dont like the change......im a big fan but i want to kno the reason...

Posted by granger1019 May 29th 2007

umm...I don't know if I am really excited or not...I'm glad its earlier, but I was planning my summer around the 13th and the 21st! Its just a really odd date to change it to...

Posted by Smkyla May 29th 2007

PLEASE SAY THIS IS FOR CANADA TOO!!!! PLEASE!!! SOMEBODY TELL MEEE

Posted by wkld1860 May 29th 2007

This kinda sucks for me and my siblings... we already asked for that Friday off work so we could sleep in the next morning after the midnight show. Now, there's no guarantee that all of us can change our work schedules. =(

Posted by witch_in_training May 29th 2007

I'm complaining because I got work off the 12th, not the 10th!

Posted by vigal May 29th 2007

this is so weird!!!! no hp film has ever come out on a wed in the U.S. not that its a bad thing!!

Posted by canuckgirl86 May 29th 2007

Yay it is the 11th for Canada too!

Posted by Roonil May 29th 2007

*dies* AHHH THAT SUCKS MAJORLY!!!!!!!!!!! I can't go at midnight now, cause I'm away then *cries mucho*

Posted by i_heart_radishes May 30th 2007

man i'll be working at a community service trip in belize that day! i'm soo bummed i'll miss the premiere =[

Posted by jeka110392 May 30th 2007

"... but no fans should be complaining" I shall do the exact opposite and complain... Im an Aussie and I was extremely excited at the prospect that we would be getting the film a whole day before the big guys; America and the UK, but now we get it the same day as the UK and a day after America. Its unfair. We were finally gonna get something before you guys for once. Oh well... I suppose theres a slight bit of hope for next time... And anyways, shouldnt the UK be getitng it first?? Is it not a British film??

Posted by Cate May 30th 2007

Had to didn't they. This is ridiculous! We Australians had to work hard to get our release date moved back but of course americans get everything first. It's so unfair. This is stupid...

Posted by HPFANTimothy May 30th 2007

ANDREW YOUR SUCH A GIT. IT'S ALL WELL AND FINE TO LIVE IN AMERICA BUT WHAT ABOUT US IN OTHER COUNTRIES? Us Aussies were looking forward to getting OotP first for ONCE ever, and now it's effing moved. Did you see us going berserk by the fact that we had to wait for 2 weeks after GoF came out? No. I don't care if the US get it on July 11 but don't go jumping for joy, because other countries have to wait ages. And I'm not only speaking for Australia, because at the moment I wish I'm still living in London :( Won't you take that into consideration that heaps of people are feeling REALLY rotten?

Posted by kookkook May 30th 2007

Goooodddd for u guys in the US and UK...i live here in jordan and they release movies here before u guys ( Spidey 3..May 2nd..Pirates 3..May 23rd)...."except" Harry Potter..UUUUUUUUUGHGGGGHH HHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! :@:@:@: @:@:@

Posted by GoGreen_SaveTheEarth May 30th 2007

THIS IS SO TYPICAL OF CAUSE THE "AMERICANS" GET IT FREAKIN FIRST!!! BECAUSE NO OTHER COUNTRY MATTERS DO THEY?!?!? NO ITS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T STAND HAVING OTHER COUNTRIES SEEING THE MOVIE FIRST!!! IT IS DISCUSTING HOW WARNER BROTHERS DID THIS TO ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES ESPECIALLY THE UK. IT WAS THEIR BOOK!!! THEIR FILM!! This is so unfair on so many levels this comment hardly explains it at all, its only because the US founded the movie that its realsed there first...its all about the money. i feel so sorry the all the UK people, i'm not even from the UK i'm Australian and i think its unfair.

Posted by Quiscalus May 30th 2007

Awwwww.... for once the people from the UK and other countries were going to get things before America, and now... I'm not complaining, but I feel sorry for the other countries. I think the reason they moved it is because they don't want superstitious people to not go because it is Friday the 13th. X) Superstitious people crack me up.

Posted by smellysocks May 30th 2007

TYPICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's all i've got to say!!

Posted by Cate May 30th 2007

I'm with you jeka, Timothy, quiscalus and gogreen. All that work and petitioning we did and they had to go and do that. Why do they have to get everything first? They seem to think that they are the most important people in the world. They should stop going on like all the fans are in america. This is so annoying. I am so ticked off...

Posted by BaybeeBethy May 30th 2007

I agree, I wish they would take into consideration that there are other countries besides America that love HP! America is not the greatest country in the world, it's not the most important, though on here, it seems like it is. "No fans should be complaing.." *Rolls eyes* I'm from the UK, so at least we do get a bit of news to do with us, however, I would hate it if I had to live somewhere other than the US/UK, because you hardly ever get a mention in anything here.

Posted by charlesb80 May 30th 2007

I would like to know what the author thinks of this. She has been quite strong about it being a British book and everything must come to the UK before or at the same time as the US. She had to fight to have British actors rather than American ones, against the idea that Hogwarts should be in the US (would work very well with the 1,000 year history that Hogwarts has), and that the first book would be called by its real title it the UK! I'm sure she will not be happy that the US has decided to ignore her (they are really good at that aren't they!)

Posted by kokoro_ravenclaw May 30th 2007

Hey! People! I am from Australia and, like usual, America gets what they want, when they want, how they want on a plate and other countries (In particular Canada, UK and Australia, who are all HUGE supporters of HP) are put in the dark and given the "secondary" and "after" date for the the movie which we've been equally waiting for. It's not fair, not right, and you Americans need to relax...God....Did ya see us screaming and going "OMG!" when we were a mere day in front of you all? No! So get a grip and open your eyes....America isn't the "whole world" like so many people think it is. Just because you all "can't complain" doesn't mean we're all slap-happy about it, okay? Once again, we come second in dates and privelidges....can't say I'm surprised.....

Posted by kandy May 30th 2007

OMG, i totally agree with GoGreen_SaveTheEarth, ITS A BRITISH BOOK WRITTEN BY A BRITISH AUTHOR, THE MOVIE IS MADE IN BRITAIN WITH BRITISH ACTORS..........Get the picture?????????? So then WHY is it being released in the U.S 1st?? Oh yeah thats right, the world revolves around America dosen't it??? God forbid any1 else gets a look in for once. The movie should be released ON THE SAME DAY REGARDLESS OF THE COUNTRY................. P.s i don't mean to offend u guys but i'm sure you can understand where i'm coming from??????

Posted by the_eighth_horcrux May 30th 2007

wtf??? am i the only who find this annoying...??? nah...j/k...YAY!!! 2 days earlier...but i'll be working then...i have fridays and saturdays off...perfect for the movie and book release...now i have to adjust my sked!!!

Posted by blaze_burner May 30th 2007

Why can't America just wait in line? For once, Australia was going to get something first, and yet again, America steals the limelight and they get the movie first. Originally, we were set for September, at least two months AFTER the US. We finally managed to get our release date into a suitable time, so that we wouldn't be ages behind other countries. We were one day ahead of America, but no, they need to have special considerations and be the first to get it. Remember Goblet of Fire? America got it at least two WEEKS ahead of us! We were all pretty peeved off. We were gonna be first this time, but they wanted to be first didn't they? Finally, It's a British movie, meaning Britain should be first to get it, with Australia either at the same time, or a close second as we are part of the Commonwealth. The only thing that could make this all worse was if they somehow changed the date that the book was released...that would REALLY make us all absolutely furious.

Posted by Cate May 30th 2007

I know what you mean kandy. They do seem to think that the world revoloves around america. I think the uk should get the movie first. It seems only fair. australia was going to get the movie in SEPTEMBER before we petitioned and got it changed to July. We were proud with ourselves but now this! This is ridiculous! Why does america always get 'what they want, when they want, how they want it on a plate' to quote kokoro? They are not the centre of the universe.

Posted by blaze_burner May 30th 2007

Originally, we were going to be among the last in the English speaking world to get the movie. We finally got it changed to July 12th. Then France changes their's to the 11th, but that doesn't matter due to timezone changes and stuff. UK changed their's to the 12th, but that was okay, because it was the same time as us and because it is a British film. Now the US has changed their's from the 13th to the 11th for no good reason, other than to make more money, leaving the rest of the world to wait a day. You have gotten every other movie first, so why not give us a chance?

Posted by GoGreen_SaveTheEarth May 30th 2007

I never knew we (meaning Australia) were going to get the movie a whole 2 months after the americans, its a good thing they changed it. *sigh* there are so many inequalities in the world, we should really learn to treat each other the same no matter what country we come from.

Posted by kokoro_ravenclaw May 30th 2007

It's far past the time for Warner Brothers to release all the Harry Potter movies at the same time...It's madness....Books are released at the same time....So are all the other Big-Time and Grand movies....What? Harry Potter isn't "special" enough to release at a Worldwide date? Seriously, I can understand the UK having first, and fair enough; they created/made/acted/produc ed and were the home to the entire series, but I really get furious when we come second to America just because of global enequalities....Why can't people see past America? THERE ARE OTHER COUNTRIES ON THIS EARTH!

Posted by kooldude10694 May 30th 2007

WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This is great! Now we have two days less to wait! This rocks! This practically made my morning! I was kind of in a bad mood, but now I'm n a slightly better mood! Anyway, this is one of the greatest news I"ve ever heard!

Posted by polkadots56 May 30th 2007

haha, did anyone decorate there calenders on july 13th? i did and now its ruined... :( but i just scribbled it out and made it pretty on july 11th. OMG!

Posted by kokoro_ravenclaw May 30th 2007

Oh, and by the way, I have nothing against America or Americans, but I do get annoyed when Harry Potter is based around the release in America...Not fair. Should be Worldwide at the same time....Australia never gets any of the movies first, or even close to the same date, so we were all stocked that the movie was coming out BEFORE America for once, even the fact that we were the same time as the UK, but now we're all sad cause, like always and like usual, we get it later and after it has been premiered and featured in other countries across the globe....Me want Harry Potter same time pweeesee....:'(

Posted by Trio4ever159 May 30th 2007

this stinks so bad. most of my family are HP addicts(including myself) and we had everything all planned out for that day the fifth movie priemered. now my whole sceduel's all messed up.

Posted by hp_rox_my_sox15 May 30th 2007

COOL!!! It definitely doesn't bother me!!!!!!! All I want to know is when mugglenet will change the countdown timer!!! :)

Posted by HarryPotterFreakers May 30th 2007

That is amazing, but why? They have to send a new poster to every movie theater, change every preview, and it just confuses people

Posted by Hollie May 30th 2007

I'm from the UK and I'm not that bothered to be honest. The films are dreadful (full of gaping plot holes and wooden acting) and I was going to be on holiday for the release anyway (and still will be). However, like many other people I'm annoyed that yet again the whole world has to stop because - shock, horror - other countries get Ootp before America. This is just typical. What America wants, America gets.

Posted by biggestpotterheadever May 30th 2007

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna be camping that day, like sixty miles away from a movie theater!!! Aw man! Guess I'll end up seeing it on July 13th anyways.

Posted by caaarls May 30th 2007

ahhh i'm SOOO excited. that's great that they moved it up! is anyone gonna fix the count down thing at the top to make it be 10 days apart from the book?

Posted by MissieRipley May 30th 2007

NOOOOOOOO! I think I am the only person in the the country that DOESN'T like this!! I am going to be in New York for a college camp thing until the THIRTEENTH! Which means I won't get to see it until Friday!!! NO! *pouts*

Posted by magicgirl_rulz_4eva May 30th 2007

OMG! I hate warner bros! they're kinda getting on my nerves, now! 13th was a friday right? It was perfect, but now the release is Thursday (IM BRITISH), I won't be partying and going to the cinema, because i know that i've got school the next day!! I'm probably going to have to wait till the 13th anyway! Plus, Harry Potter is british, why can't we Brits see the movie first? I was so happy when I found out that Brits get it a day earlier, but now the americans get it on the 11th! unfair or what!?

Posted by danastasio1025 May 30th 2007

man, now i have to unask for the 13th off and ask for the 11th off instead, i hope this is final.

Posted by emmad69 May 30th 2007

to be honest im kinda peeved but i dont see what being angry is going achieve. I mean, i have family all over - australia, america, canada etc, and im in scotland when it comes out, but i am kind of annoyed that the most likely reason for the american moval date is to make more money. i agree with everyone who said though that its unfair where the movie is british, the actors and actresses are strictly british, the sets are british, and locations etc, so why cant the UK be the first location of showing. i mean it seems only fair, but meh, nowt can be done now can it?........... it sucks for australia though, because they thought they were getting it first with us and now, well.... its not happening. The movies have sort of lost their appeal for me now, before it was about the movies being true to the books and now it seems as if they are turning to the same thing as always - money; and how much can be made how fast. If it weren't for Jo, i think they would be completely off chart and end up being NOTHING like the books at all.

Posted by koolzies May 30th 2007

I cannot believe how selfish a lot of you people are. At least you are still getting to see it. I'm sure a lot of people around the globe who won't get to see the movies at all are very, very excited about you lot getting it a day later. What about the children being mass murdered in Darfur, huh? I wish all they had to do was gripe about getting a film a day late.

Posted by smartgirl99 May 30th 2007

OMGEEZ no! =/ i think i will be at a missions trip and might not see it on midnight now my dad said he had it all handled and said he found a thingy in this place that said its coming out the 12th im SOO confused! bahh!

Posted by HARRYPOTTERISTHEBEST May 30th 2007

you said therd be no complaints but heres one:- y do u americans get it earlier its the same wiv gof dvd u got it like a month earlier n i think the british shud get it on that date too. i mean jk rowlin was only british but never mind wer not that important

Posted by steffwinkies May 30th 2007

ok..people..calm down.....OMG! I CANT BELIEVE IT! IM NOT COMPLAINING! THIS IS SO FRIGGIN AWESOME! OH IM SO HAPPY! IM SO EXCITED! WOOOOT! YAHOO!..well..(calmed down)..i think WB is excited too..that's why! haha..ok..that enough of me, before i fill this comment box with nonsence shouts..like..*started to dance and shout around*.. ;)

Posted by Leominor May 30th 2007

wow i never knew australia got their movies sooo late after...im not american but sometimes, most of the time we do get our movies say on Wednesdays instead of the Friday which America mostly show their movies...so we here in the Caribbean sometimes get it earlier....or on the same date with the US....though i wish it could just be ONE big opening WorldWide...that'll be great...oh well. So JULY 11th it is!!!! yayness...... :P :D

Posted by Shade May 30th 2007

This is absolutley ridiculous! I mean no offense when I say this, but UK have to wait for up to 5 months for their films to come over here, and we dont say a word. And then when we get a film 24 hours before US its uproar! Why cant we have a film that has an entire Brittish cast, that is filmed in Britain and funding is helped by Britain released in Britain first for a change? Abosolutley typical! Stupid infact.

Posted by Jo_H May 30th 2007

Yes, it was much too good to be true that British people would get a British film based on a British book first...but the REAL question is: Why does FRANCE get it before us??? Surely it would take time to dub the film?

Posted by Heather25x May 30th 2007

WHAT? So the US get it before the UK???? If they do that's so unfair, it's a British book with a British author and a British film! omg i'm so annoyed. It should definetly be at least the same dat as the UK because the US get everything before us!!! To think a few weeks ago i was finally happy that we got something before the US. Why do you get everything??
