I am not sure if this is true or not, but sometimes they like to come out with movies on Wednesdays so that the total of how much they made that weekend is bigger since the weekend will now consist of that wednesday and thursday too. It's kind of a cheap trick. I used to work in movie theatres for 3 years.

This is strange. I am pretty sure it has to do with the fact that the book is coming out the weekend after and that is going to take away from sales. I really think they are going to change it for the UK as well. Dont think I am complaining...Im just for hyped up for the book a lot more than the movie.

Aw, gee, my husband & I scheduled our 2-week vacation to coincide with the movie & book release, and we were going to kick it off with the midnight showing of the movie. Now we'll have to wait a day to see it...bummer...we wanted to catch that very first showing...

well i can complain, its a british movie, we should get it first in all due fairness, was someone mad that we were getting it first? i just think that its annoying cos american films are released in america first but british films are not released here first...i know its made by an american production company but still, its set in england, its and english novel, and english cast, makes no sesne to me...well im glad we all get deathly hallows on the same day. sorry im just in a bit of a mood, this is my rant lol

Oh, great. So that means that the US gets the film first as well as all the test screenings, TV specials and all the rest. Does this mean that the UK release will be pushed back as well, or just the US? All these seperate releases are so unfair - why can't everyone just have it at the same time with no preferential treatment (that goes for the original plan to open in the UK first, too). We're all HP fans, so why should some get the film before others, purely based on location? So unfair.

This is good news. I was freaking out about having to choose between Harry and Ozzfest (Because the 12th is when Ozzfest is for Seattle, and that would mean missing out on the midnight showing and I just can't do that. I CAN DO OZZY AND HARRY!!!! WOO!!!

I personally am not very happy about it. This messes with a lot of events that were scheduled around the original premiere date.

I'm super excited that the movie comes out sooner. Midnight on the 10th, my best friend's birthday! For all of you non-Americans, you have to realize that it isn't our fault they moved the release date. We're just as surprised as everyone else. WB has to think in terms of money and, frankly, their biggest income probably comes from the Americans. It's upsetting and the Brits should be getting it first but WB thinks in terms of money, not who deserves it first. I'm still wondering why they changed the release day to a Wednesday in the first place...

I honestly could care less who gets its first is it really a big deal when everyone (who wants) is going to be able to view it eventually? Who cares if some people get it 1 or 2 days before someone else does? There are people who aren’t even going to go and rush out and see it the first weekend. Heck the movie is having its world Premiere in Japan. The UK date was changed to the 12 original I think it was the 13 there too. Who knows why US got pushed back to the 11 and not the 12 too but that’s life. There was one country that was set to get on the 11 anyways. It be nice if everyone got it same day, Harry Potter has become a world wide phenomenon it truly belongs to the whole world thus everyone should get books/movies same time, but that is not how it works.
