Publisher says 2007 Book 7 release is likely
While on her visit to India, Bloomsbury co-founder Liz Calder said in an interview that she suspects the final Harry Potter book will be released in 2007."One more 'Harry Potter' only but she [Rowling] said from the beginning that she would write seven. So she would not write another one after this. But Rowling would write other books for us. The next 'Harry Potter' book is likely to come out in 2007. I hope so."
Many people speculated that the fifth movie and seventh book couldn't come out in the same summer (or even year). But even though Liz is probably aware that OOTP is slated for a 2007 release, she still thinks that Book 7 could be released then. We'll just have to wait and see!

i bet it will be after the fith movie is released.. i don't think it will be earlier than that.. but i've heard some comments that she already decided the title but is not telling us now!! I'm so excited!! has anyone heard a rumor like that?

I hope it is '07, (and even better if it's july!) 'cause then it'll be exactly ten years between the first book and the last. Ten years of HP goodness...how time flies... Can you imagine if the book and film came out in the same week???? I'd probably die of over excitement!!!

What great news, although of course it is not confirmed - and I imagine will not be for some more months or so. Can anyone believe that this time next year we might be only a few weeks away from HP7!! It's awesome.

w00t w00t! Bring on book 7. Who can wait. It is going to be very exciting. With all this attention on book 7 I hope no one spoils the story. I really hope JKR will write many many more books after HP.

It would be just horrible to let pass that "most powerfully magical number" and NOT have the finale of this roller coaster of an adventure conclude on 7/7/2007. I think it is fated. No pressure, Ms. Rowling!
It should be 30th of June, 10 years to the day of the release of the first.
It's sad to think that it will be the end of the series. :-(

Watch, we're all expecting a 7/7/7, but the book will be released in August or September or something. I don't want it to, I think the July 07 set up would be perfect.
CrookshanksGranger- I agree that 7/7/7 would be an awesome release date for book 7. I was going to say that I'd like book 7 released before the OotP movie, but now I'm not too sure. As long as both are 2007 I'm happy. I don't think I could wait until 2008 for book 7.

Yay! This is going to be the best summer ever!!!! So exciting!!! It's going to be bittersweet when book seven has been put down and finished. I think I'm probably going to take forever to finish reading it, just because I don't want it to end.

I would be majorly peeved if the publication-date of the book would be pushed back just because it collided in some way with the movie-release - the movies are at best "tolerable" - a way to pass the time waiting - the books are what I've really fallen in love with - so if the publishers/WB want to avoid that both releases are too close together - and if book 7 really can come out in the summer of 07 (as I (and others)'ve hoped for long now, - so this interview isn't really news) I'd hope that Bloomsbury considers - if possible - a slightly earlier release (May?) ... rather than a later release... The movie can wait until 2010 as far as I am concerned - but the book not a day longer than stricly necessary... :D
yaa....i saw an interview on HEADLINES TODAY....initially i dint kno who she was but den wen da presenter sed she was da Bloomsbury's Director of publishing.....i was hooked....i dont think its da same interview,but she def mentioned harry potter!!!! YAY anyway!!

I really want it to come out 07/07/07 at 7:07:07 (though 7am isn't a good hours for most (including myself.. I'm not an early bird, lol) and 7pm is actually 19 hours (military time or actually what everybody calls 7pm anywhere in the world but the US) Anyways if it doesn't come out at 7:07:07 it can come out at midnight like all others; it'd still be cool for it to be released July 7th, 2007 (07/07/07)
What a summer it'll be! :D But I'll be kind of sad, I think...I've been reading HP for seven years. And then, it'll be over! I wonder what JK will do with her wonderful talent next...
*hides* I must be one of the only people who wants it out in 2008 (judging by the minority on the poll) I think we'll all be really sad (as in boohoo) when the HP thing is all over.. *cries* I'd like it to be out 2008 coz I want JKR to take her time writing it and not rush at ALL making sure she's put everything she wants in it. For some reason I still think that 07 might be too soon (like they say on Mugglecast editing takes a while too) Hope its not out winter..eeek I also have a strange desire to be 'older' than Harry when Book 7 comes out...which is 2008! lol

Ha, I didn't think about that, crazy_purple_hp_freak, but I think I'd rather be the same age as Harry for the first time when reading the seventh book (which I will be).
