Blue Peter announces contest to meet JK Rowling
The BBC children's program Blue Peter has announced a new contest that will give one lucky kid the opportunity to meet Jo in their studio. To enter, you must be 14 years or younger, submit a question you'd like to ask Jo, and enter a picture of yourself dressed as a witch or wizard.

Good luck to anyone who enters! Thanks to everyone who sent in the details.

oh i am soooooooooo going to enter!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by grednforge May 30th 2007

Man! What's up with these contests for young kids? What about us older kids?? This seems a little unfair.. after all, we're the ones who grew up with Harry and are J.K.'s biggest fans. *sigh* oh well.

Posted by HPFREAK7 May 30th 2007

omg this is soooo unfair!!!! why do you always have to be 14 or under??? there are older fans too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Posted by pHoAtRtReYr May 30th 2007

YAAAAY!!!! Im 13!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Hermione_Grangers_equal May 30th 2007

Posted by pHoAtRtReYr May 30th 2007

AWWWWWWW!!!!!In the rules it says u hav to be in UK.......thas not fair....

Posted by majda May 30th 2007

Hallooo! Any chance for older fans??? I´m 19 but I love everything about HP and I would like to see actors or J.K.Rowling too! It´s really not fair!

Posted by thegoodship May 30th 2007

yeah!! i`m 13!! I am so going to enter :D .....now wht 2 ask........

Posted by scantando8805 May 30th 2007

WHY is the entire Harry potter franchise geared towards young kids. The books came out TEN years ago which means all of the original fans are around TWENTY. Sorry it just annoys me how they still gear for a "10-12" year olds (like the movies or like this contest) like they've been doing for the past ten years.

Posted by AnyaMarcos May 30th 2007

Holy cow, is Blue Peter still on???? That show was on in the 70s!

Posted by Holly09 May 30th 2007

But I'm 16 and the biggest Harry Potter freak in my school. Why are they counting me out. It's my lifelong dream to meet J.K. Rowling. I've had dreams about it. Don't they know that the think that is so awesome about Harry is that any age can enjoy them, not just little kids. I'd like to give this Blue Peter person a piece of my mind.

Posted by H2theP May 30th 2007

WHAT!!!! I turned 15 two weeks ago. That is totally unfair. :(

Posted by HarryPotterFreakers May 30th 2007

That would be SOOOOOOOOOO amazing! I am even young enough!

Posted by HP_freak_fan1 May 30th 2007

No way!! I looked at the website- only for UK! why is everything always for them??!!! I would do ANYTHING to win that!

Posted by Mira May 30th 2007

HAHAHA! Perfect age AND perfect question!

Posted by harypoterluv May 30th 2007

NOO!! IT'S ONLY OPEN TO UK RESIDENTS!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO MOVING TO BRITAIN SO I CAN ENTER!

Posted by steenie676 May 30th 2007

noo fair it says u need 2 be in the Uk !! =[ y not open one 4 ppl in america!?? the should

Posted by xylophonefairy May 30th 2007

Blue Peter is a British show aimed at children and maybe pre teens. To be perfectly honest, it would look a little bit strange if they got a 21 year old on the show to ask J K Rowling a question. Especially if that person was American, as Blue Peter is very British, people would get really annoyed if that particular competition opened to people outside the UK. There will be contests in America, just give it time. Then you can go all HUZZAH on us. I know I've been really irritated by American contests before, especially around when the GoF film was released! It's all just a bit game of give and take. That said, it really sucks to be 15 right now. XO

Posted by hpgirlxoxo May 30th 2007

NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!! why cant people in the USA enter! i really wanted to enter...

Posted by dglaney May 30th 2007

You got me so pumped! I was reading the requirements, and besides the fact that I would be in camp on July 5, I was like, Yes! I might be able to do this! And then I came down to the whole "Have to a resident of the UK..." and my hopes shattered. Oh well. Great oppurtunity for whomever though. Good Luck to all eligible!

Posted by the_broken_locket May 30th 2007

I was pumped too dglaney!!!!! I'm not going to camp till the 9th and I was like I CAN GO!!!! And then I read you have to be a resident of the UK... that SUCKS!!!! So any UK kids on here.... good luck.... I wish I could go.

Posted by caaarls May 30th 2007

i wish i wasn't over 12 :( but have fun for those who enntterr

Posted by HPgeek4LIFE May 30th 2007

i want to meet her. fun!!!!!!!!! :)

Posted by harmony May 30th 2007

why am i 15? dang i would give anything to be 14 right now!

Posted by dementors_madness May 30th 2007

I'm with all of the older kids and over 21 year olds who think it's a bit unfortunate that there doesn't seem to be any "contest" for older fans to get a chance to do any of these fabulous things. Harry Potter isn't just for children....

Posted by Glubad May 30th 2007

darn! I'm 14, but im in the US....darn...

Posted by PhoenixHollowsGirl May 30th 2007

AHHH!!!!! I want to go SOO bad!!! Why is it only UK!?!?!?! The US has a larger population and more HP fans, so why can't it also be US!?!?!? I was all excited when I saw that I'm gonna be home on July 5th! Then, I HAD to scroll down and see that it's only available to UK citizens!!!!! I'm 14 in 2 days!!!! It would have been a good "congrats! You're now 14!" birthday present for me! SOOOO unfair!!!! Sorry had to vent all that out. Good luck to all you UK peeps!!!!

Posted by theaterjunkie91 May 30th 2007

gahh i'm too old for this contest and i was too young for the other one!

Posted by mshermione_879 May 30th 2007

aw man... i don't live in the UK. darnit!

Posted by sillyme May 30th 2007

darn im too old! i hope the person asks really good questions.

Posted by soccerluver13 May 30th 2007

I'm 14 but i live in the US :(

Posted by amanda May 30th 2007

darn it. I am Canadian and sixteen. drat.

Posted by focusf1 May 30th 2007

dont sweat it people. Blue Peter fixes its competitions anyway. My partner's best friend's daughter just happened to be in the studio on the day a comp winner was to be announced and she was told she could have the prize if she accepted it in tv.

Posted by Cree902 May 30th 2007

Psssh, I wish I was 14 or under.

Posted by kittyblossom May 30th 2007

UK Residents ONLY?? What kind of prejuicided people? I can't believe it! (me being just 14 and everything...)

Posted by maki May 30th 2007

that's not fair! I just turned 15! AND I'm not british! My life wish is to meet her. Oh well I heard she's going on a vacation with her family to the Galapagos Islands after the book release...I'm planning on flying to the islands and go searching for her...yeah like that would actually happen... my mom wouldn't let me skip school... and i guess she will be surrounded by security guards...... too bad :) GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
