Laura Mallory fails again
A judge in Gwinnett County, Georgia ruled on Tuesday that the Potter books can stay in school libraries (after local concerned parent Laura Mallory tried once again to have them banned from schools and libraries). After all of these attempts in court, Mallory has finally admitted she may "need a whole new case from the ground up."

Thanks to everyone who e-mailed with the tip!

Posted by JoinSPEW May 30th 2007

OMG! She is just jealous! Like she could right better! Laura is as stupid as Dudley. She is probably an AUNT MARGE! Again! She did this before!!!!!! 1 little woman (actually a short fat one with a pig face) against oh I don't know most of the child population!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

Posted by kittyblossom May 30th 2007

she is so stupid. Once I wrote a email to her explaining the wonderful values, etc, etc, of Harry Potter and she didn't even respond. I don't know where she gets her crazy ideas, but she just needs to go jump into an empty swimming pool. Anyway, she better STOP now, because if she gets them banned before DH comes out (fat chance, truthfully) I will hunt her down.

Posted by Hermy_Own6 May 30th 2007

Ha! Take that Potter-Hater! IN YOUR FACE! And wow, she actually admitted that she needed a new case, amazing, she seemed like the eternally determined person. Well, score for the potter side!

Posted by aloneinshadow May 30th 2007

or she may need to give up completely...

Posted by LaurenB May 30th 2007

*evil laughter*

Posted by i_want_to_be_a_weasley May 30th 2007

She's Umbridge in real life. She is trying to take everything away!!! Imagine how her kids must feel..... Sad, Sad, Sad, little woman.

Posted by tgreenfield88 May 30th 2007

dude......she sucks lol

Posted by Mrsroonil_wazlib May 30th 2007

ok, if she doesnt like the series, she doesnt have to read it! i dont care if she wont let her kids read harry potter its her decision i no a couple of people who arent allowed to read HP 259?

Posted by amanda May 30th 2007

HAHAHHAHAHA. she is such a loser. obviously harry potter will not be banned, that would be ridiculous. she should have given up quite a while ago.

Posted by miss_KATIE_JANE May 30th 2007

hahaha. if she had won, i would have eaten all of my harry potter books. :] so many people love harry potter, it's like, why would they DO that? it was stupid that she tried. love, katie jane

"Mallory has finally admitted she may "need a whole new case from the ground up."" Well, DUH! No matter what "case" she come up with, it still isn't going to fly in the courts, who, by and large, are loath to censorship. Don't worry about getting a case, Ms. Mallory. Instead, get a CLUE!

Posted by Pride May 30th 2007

Laura Mallorys New name is She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named . She is an a idiot. She is Volemorts sister. HP BOOKS SHOULD'T BE BANNED FROM LIBRARIES AND SCOOLS, SHE SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THIS UNIVERSE. She is an excuse for a human being. I can not describe my hatred for her. What was her husband thinking when he married that old bag?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!? !?!?!?!?!

Posted by july21tillhp7 May 30th 2007

get a life laura! stop brining shame to the u.s.!! and so everyone else knows,-not all americans are this horribly stupid--!!!!!!!

Posted by Idiggory May 30th 2007

Anyone notice this woman's initals match the ever evil Lucius Malfoy??? Even her last name is really close to it... oh scary.. (sarcasm much)

Posted by hprebel311 May 30th 2007

she is just stupid. thats all there is to say. its like if somebody tried to say guitar hero leads to people doing drugs. definitely a non sequitur argument.

Posted by july21tillhp7 May 30th 2007

shes right! we do all takes drugs and get into gangs cause we read harry potter! and again she has a point that most of us turn into witchs after reading it!! **extream sarcasm**

Posted by SeanMD80 May 30th 2007

My definition of a stupid person is someone who tries the same thing repeatedly and yet expects different results. Laura Mallory is therefore, by my logic, accordingly stupid. Is it possible, Laura, to build a house on a gaping, bottomless pit? Because I'd say that rebuilding your case "from the ground up" is going to be pretty hard if you have no ground to build on. God is not on your side in this one, as we all can see.

Posted by july21tillhp7 May 30th 2007

i bet -->SHE'S

Posted by lms1300 May 30th 2007

And sadly she cannot "start from the ground up" again because its already been ruled on. Res judicata bars it from the same case being brought again with the same parties and she would have known that and not made stupid comments like that if she had had an attorney in the first place.

Posted by SeanMD80 May 30th 2007

Oh, and I forgot to respond to Laura's marvelous argument that "Harry Potter causes school shootings" with a splendid one of my own: "Decreasing numbers of pirates on the open sea are leading to global warming". If I tried to argue that in court I'd be zero for four as well.

Posted by nuwandalives May 30th 2007

I feel bad for her kids, they must be humiliated.

Posted by mike10101011 May 30th 2007

I say we start a petition and make her shut up!! Shes so dumb. how many times has she tried it? 5, 6, 7? Get the clue woman!

Posted by freakishBBQ May 30th 2007

Oh yeah, she is definatly right about this! When i finished HBP, my first thought was to do drugs, join a gang, and jump off a roof with my broom! *rolls eyes* Come on...

Posted by Kepi May 30th 2007

*sarcastically* I am sooo shocked she lost YET AGAIN for like the BAZIOLLIONth TIME!

Posted by Cree902 May 30th 2007

Thank God. This lady really just needs to give up. No one's on her side.

Posted by phoenix_in_flight May 30th 2007

*sarcastically* I know, I mean how could she possibly lose!? I mean with no true evidence, wild accusations, and never haveing read the books, why in the world would she need a new case?

Posted by 7_21_07 May 30th 2007

We shouldn't critisize her because of her beliefs, she's allowed to have them you know. XD I just really think she needs to think this over. We know that Harry Potter books are fiction, Laura! Stop annoying people! Nobody's going to convert, and how are those schools supposedly teaching witchcraft linked to harry potter? They weren't inspired by it. Harry Potter as a book series has helped a lot of people. They don't have to be banned. Nowhere in the books does it mention religion at all, so neither does it promote any religion or insult any religion. They're NEUTRAL. Please go do something else useful with your time, like feeding the homeless or something.

OMG woman puh lease give up! I mean...how can such a wonderful book be evil? I mean even John Paul II read it for God's sake! oh and plz don't think we all christians are like this woman, really I mean I'm a Roman Catholic through and through and I'm the biggest hp freak in my whole country...seriously...(my country is pretty small: Ecuador...look it up on the map) and I'm on a catholic school and all of my friends love the books/movies and in every book fair the hp books are there. So plz I would appreciate everyone to stop posting rude comments against christians, bc they're not true. I mean there's bad people in every single religion, right? it doesn't mean that all of their members are the same. Oh and don't forget that THIS WOMAN IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! HARRY POTTER ROCKS!

Posted by Mnemone07 May 30th 2007

Shame on those people who are taking advantage of this to bash on Christianity! I myself am Roman Catholic, and I take offense from some of the earlier comments. All of the stereotypes so ignorantly said are completely inaccurate in regards to TRUE Christians . If all of us were as horrible as some of you described, then of course I'd convert! For someone who describes Christianity as an intolerant religion, I wouldn't publicly be acting intolerant yourself! You have every right to say what you want, just please know that it's [fanatic] intolerance for other cultures/religions/races that causes all the wars and catastrophes in this world, if this wasn't obvious enough. I respect people's beliefs, as long as they are not FANATIC. Mallory is a FANATIC. Terrorists are FANATIC. No, I am not going to go as far as to say Mallory is a terrorist, because that would be exaggerating. That's not to say I don't loathe the very mention of her (and by now you all should have figured out that I am NOT the perfect Christian)! I don't pretend to be the perfect Christian, nor am I pretending that Christianity is a perfect religion. I merely took too long to distinguish the difference between false, fanatic Christians, and normal people. Sorry for the interminable post!

Posted by maki May 30th 2007

READ THE BOOKS!

Posted by Mnemone07 May 30th 2007

Posted by twilight_butterfly May 30th 2007

She seriously doesn't know when to quit, but hopefully this will finally get the point acrossed that she is wasting her time and energy

Posted by potterboy May 30th 2007

Posted by hdmv_2116 May 30th 2007

I wonder what her children go through...*shrug* Anyways, I am a Christian and I love the Harry Potter books, but to think that we would convert to wicca. because of the books?? That's just plain insanity. *shakes head*

Posted by Okirun May 30th 2007

I can NOT wait for her new case! Laura, I'm your biggest fan! ;A;

Posted by Mokusan May 30th 2007

This is, what, her fourth time in court with it? Honestly, when will the woman get a clue? Now, if she put that much effort into something important with valid reasoning behind it, such as Invisible Children in Africa or something, then we'd be getting somewhere...

Posted by Spirit May 30th 2007

Oh no, Mallory, keep going... fight the good fight... take it all the way to the Supreme Court. I enjoy hearing of her failing.

Posted by megblack89 May 30th 2007

The books have changed the world, in a positive way. You ask any Harry Potter fan, they will disagree with everything she says, why? because they have read the books. Any HP fans who turn to witchcraft, satan rah rah rah, are clearly disturbed in the first place, because harry potter does not promote this stuff. Any normal reader knows what fiction vs fact is, hence we dont turn all evil because of them. Shame shame shame on you Laura Mallory. Just the fact you are trying to ruin the joy that the books bring to our lives (mine for 10 years! since I was a little girl) you trying to take that from us is cruel. Where is your heart?

Posted by kkatid May 31st 2007

why doesn't she spend all that free time doing something worth while, like solving world hunger or stopping global warming?

Posted by radical_dreamer May 31st 2007

lol Man, wait until she find out her kids read Harry Potter. She's gonna flip. Like seriously. ahahaha

Posted by Abhay May 31st 2007

This woman has officially made a public laughing stock of herself....

Posted by Lily_Windsor May 31st 2007

I feel darn sorry for her kids! I would hate to have her as a mum!

Posted by John_19 May 31st 2007
