I find it strange that the locket is silver. It's been awhile since I re-read any of the books, but I'm almost positive the locket is described as being gold. Why would the Slytherin on JKR's site be wearing a silver locket if it is supposed to be gold? She of all people should know.

No Starlight, it's silver. On the UK cover it's silver, in the books it's silver and now on the wotm it's silver. It would be awsome if july is Harry Potter but i think she will stick with the founders. I think it will be Rowena with her wand as the horcrux. Gryffindor would give too much away. We really didn't learn much about Slytherin but it is cool to finally see the founders.

Actually, there's some discussion in the JKRowling.com discussion thread in the common room of the Chamber of Secrets forums (http://cosforums.com/sho wthread.php?t=104724&page =45) about the color of the locket. Apparently both the locket and the fake are golden according to the books and the picture on the cover, so this image of slytherin with a silver locket is confusing.

That will be interesting to see if she does all of the four founders... it would make sense if you think about it. 30? :-D

Anyway...I'm pretty sure there isn't gonna be a horcrux in each picture.. that isnt particularly subtle...And although in Syltherin's and Hufflepuff's there are horcruxes...that's just cause we know about them. If she does the same in Ravenclaw and Gryffindor... that'll be a big giveaway...not to mention a SPOILER...although I don't think info given on her site is considered as a spoiler...more like Information only.

I think they did good with this picture. If you remember in Chamber of Secrets, when Harry walked into the Chamber, he immediately saw the statue of Slytherin. According to the book's description, Salazar Slytherin looked rather monkey-ish. I definitely think this image of Slytherin looks monkey-ish (look at the lower-half of his face to see what I mean).

What I'm thinking, is that there isn't enough TIME before July 21st for her to do Ravenclaw AND Gryffindor. That means the one she chooses is more important to the storyline in my opinion.

Hey did ANYONE else notice the way his hands are positioned. Now it could just be nothing important...but Dumbledore's hands are---were always described to be like that... and we know Dumbledore too is a skilled Legilimens...and in the House of Gaunt memory...when Morfin speaks in Parseltongue..I don't remember what exactly happens...but Harry finds something with the Parseltongue-usage and Dumbledore's reaction to be odd. So maybe Dumbledore too can be described as a skilled Legilimens and a Parseltongue....not to mention the long silvery beard. There are TOO many similarities here.

I think Salazar has been pictured really well... it isnt hard to see where Marvolo Gaunt gets his 'monkey like' appearance from... and also the evil serpent-like stare...

The locket was gold....well atleast the fake one was... I just went back and read it. On page 574 of the American version, 12th line down, it says "...he barely registered the golden locked...."

Do you think next month it'll be Ravenclaw, and she'd be holding whatever voldie used for his horcrux?
