WOMBAT part 3 now up!
WOMBAT part 3 now up! JKRowling.com has been updated with the third part of the WOMBATs (Wizards' Ordinary Magic and Basic Aptitude Tests)! Click on the eraser on Jo's desk to get to the door whose "Do Not Disturb" sign has now been removed.

According to the site, "The Grade 3 WOMBAT is the final examination, and the most difficult. Not only is the subject matter much more advanced, but the examination is also more stringently marked. Certain answers will LOSE YOU MARKS, so choose carefully..."

We recommend you try to figure out how to open the door on your own, but for instructions, click here.
1. Click on the fly (on the window). It turns into a key.
2. Drag this to the keyhole.
3. Stack the shapes on top of each other: Triangle on line, circle on triangle.
4. Click this shape, then click the exam paper to begin.

If you're having problems opening the door, try clearing your cache/cookies (see your browser's Internet options), or access the site at jkrowling.net or jorowling.com.

How'd you get the fly to work, sammidork?

Posted by Jax_Draconia Jun 13th 2007

The fly won't work for me on Safari or Firefox, which is weird because the door always worked for me before. I think the fly just doesn't like Macs.

Posted by sammidork Jun 13th 2007

Which enter did you click on the main screen?

Posted by Soras_Best_Buddy Jun 13th 2007

See i did some things with those bottles first but i guess that was just me goofing off. Lost the code from my last test but that's ok. This test was way hard.

Posted by ginnygal Jun 13th 2007

ok I tried clicking on the fly on the iwndow and it wont work and tahts really sad to because was looking forward 2 it!!!

Posted by horcruxmaniac Jun 13th 2007

That darn fly won't budge!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do I do?!!!!! :'(

Posted by AndromedaBlack Jun 13th 2007

Awsome! Thanks a lot! This is the first time that I've gotten to do the WOMBAT! YAY!

Posted by Soras_Best_Buddy Jun 13th 2007

I don't know if y'all have done this but you have to click and hold on the fly or else it won't work.

Posted by ickle_diddykins Jun 13th 2007

I just finished it on Safari 3 beta, and I know it works on Firefox as I have done it on there before. This was done on a Windoze computer but a web browser is still a web browser and WILL work on a Macintosh with one of the one's I mentioned, as long as your doing it correctly.

Posted by auror134008 Jun 13th 2007

okay, i just finnished! that's the first one i've taken, and i am so happy!!!!! ps: There's a question in i think part two about the Goblin Rebellions, and this isnt the answer i don't think, but i caught on to it and thought JK might be giving us a VERY hidden clue!!! it says something about a goblin's accusations that Godric Gryffindor stole his sword...could this give us a hint? Just a theory, good luck to you all!!!

Posted by horcruxmaniac Jun 13th 2007

I clicked and held on that fly till my finger cramped up but it still didn't work for me. Time to give up I think.

Posted by asavari Jun 13th 2007

It WILL work on the UK link on the bottom left corner of the page. The link with the Union Jack on it. It'll work with any browser.

Posted by harry_potterdude Jun 13th 2007

Woah, IT WAS HARD! Especially the History questions, but I think I passed, I hope.

Posted by LadyM Jun 13th 2007

*puts down text book*..well that's a helluva lot better than finals! I just finished taking it! it was hard!

Posted by augusteyes Jun 13th 2007

i figured out the potion! listen to the radio!

Posted by 1oftheTrio Jun 13th 2007

where's the Radio???

Posted by pcube3 Jun 13th 2007

I had a ton of trouble figuring out how to get the fly to work and I'd tried the .net and .org thing too. I went to www.jorowling.com and clicked on the british version and when i went back into the room, it looked slightly different. Well, it worked if you use the directions correctly, you should take the test. The test is SUPER-HARD and i'm waiting for it to get 'graded'. Well, good luck people!

Posted by asavari Jun 13th 2007

The potion is old news. the six drops of red and three drops of green that make the plant grow. the exam was way too hard!

Posted by ahighwayman Jun 13th 2007

If the fly won't turn into a key for you, make sure that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups from the JKR site that you are using.

Posted by LiLibug28 Jun 13th 2007

MAKE SURE YOU"RE IN THE UK VERSION...US DOES NOT WORK!!!!!

Posted by Million024 Jun 13th 2007

why doesn't the fly turn into the key when i click on it

Posted by RoonilzWazlib Jun 13th 2007

i dont know what's wrong but i seem to do everything right till i click on the paper and it doesnt appear anything!!!!!! im going to restart the computer..:S

Posted by rmz890 Jun 13th 2007

That was really...hard. Haha! But the answers were, in most cases, extremely creative/ hilarious. Thanks, Jo!

Posted by fairy_lights Jun 13th 2007

yeah, i clicked on the UK version, and then it started working. Try that.

Posted by Alanna Jun 13th 2007

Do you guys realise she's giving us clues? That symbol...one of the questions is about Godric Gryffindor stealing a goblin's sword...this is BIG.

Posted by anitaFELTON Jun 13th 2007

GO TO THE UK SITE! the fly works there!

Posted by Harryfan20 Jun 13th 2007

Woohoo! My first Wombat. I think I finished too early, and it was tough. When do we find out our results?

Posted by _Lady_Voldemort_ Jun 13th 2007

the fly won't work!! it won't change anything to a key!! arghh i really want to take this, i missed the first two!!

Posted by anitaFELTON Jun 13th 2007

aaag the shapes arent working for me

Posted by SiriusLoveGirl Jun 13th 2007

Well, that wasn't too terrible. I think I messed up on a few of the Minister of Magic questions.

Posted by vethraxi Jun 13th 2007

That was pretty difficult. I did pretty terrible on the first half of the test, but I think I did quite well on the last half. Hope I passed! Thank you, Jo!

Posted by bwof Jun 13th 2007

HELLO, I´ve got enough trouble with my own **** exams, didn´t pass one today. ARGH, I`ve had it with exams!!!!! Needless to say I would have appreciated some news about the book sooo much MORE.

Posted by SiriusFool Jun 13th 2007

Hey guys, my advice to everyone that can't get it to work is just not to panic. There's a way you can get it to work. It'll work for all browsers on both mac and PC delete your cookies, try the .co.uk version of the site...everything that people have already suggested works. Just give it some time to come around. And there won't be a pointer on the fly...if there was it wouldn't be secret and hidden.

Posted by Tarek Jun 13th 2007

THE FLY IS NOT TURNING INTO A KEY!!! THERE IS A A HUGE EXPLOSION IN MY COUNTRY THAT KILLED a M.P !!!!! AND I HAVE FINALS!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Posted by xoxKatiexox Jun 13th 2007

Wow that was hard! It was my first WOMBAT but I know loads of Harry Potter stuff but not about all the old ministers of magic and stuff! Lol had to laugh about that one about Goblin Rebellions in the 17th 18th century, since Godric Griffindor happens to be a LOT older than that I do'nt think that that was one of the causes! The potions bit was easy though. :D

Posted by hpprincessa Jun 13th 2007

YAY i did it!!!!!!!!

Posted by chiz08 Jun 13th 2007

omg! this is the first time that i opened the door by myself... i am so happy. lol. when i saw the circle, line and the triangle, i already knew that it had to be the symbol mugglecast was talking about. the questions were so hard.. i doubt i passed it.

Posted by xoxKatiexox Jun 13th 2007

Oh by the way, does anybody know how long it takes for you to be able to get your results? It's my first exam so I don't know when they'll be up! Thanks

Posted by Lunis85 Jun 13th 2007

And I'm SO taking notes of all the famous wizards of the month from now on. Freaking difficult this test was, I can't do with History of Magic, man! I hated it. the other parts weren't as bad, I hope I pass...

Posted by Jax_Draconia Jun 13th 2007

I couldn't get the fly to work with the "accessibility enabled" version, but when I went in through the UK "enter" button, it worked fine. Hope that helps someone.

Posted by heather_s_70056 Jun 13th 2007

I just finished taking it. This one was much harder. The shapes form the symbol that is on the cover of the UK books. Can it be another clue?

Posted by bishbop56 Jun 13th 2007

i took the first two tests, got goos marks kept my student id but on this one i think i failed. :-(

Posted by James87 Jun 13th 2007

Hey guys, I just got it to work after a while. Go to the bottom left and enter through the BRITISH site.

Posted by Fawkes_Forever Jun 13th 2007

Ok I really need some help here. I've tried the UK site, Fixed my pop-up blocker, deleted my cookies and it's still not working. Please help me becasue I want to take this so badly *sobs*

Posted by OMGWTFBBQ Jun 13th 2007

That was my first WOMBAT. I think i failed it....

Posted by iamshinek Jun 13th 2007

see http://photo2text.com/

Posted by Piper_weasley Jun 13th 2007

you have to use the Uk vershon for it to work

Posted by Marion Jun 13th 2007

il était dur celui là j'ai trouvé !!!

Posted by NelleDE Jun 13th 2007

ANYONE WHO CAN NOT OPEN THE DOOR....... Do not use the Accessability Site. You must use the UK site for the door to open. I was having the same problem with all the different sites, but as soon as I clicked on the UK version, it worked for me. Can't wait to get my Wombat scores back!
