Interview with Arnold and the Pygmy Puffs:
1. Why do you play wizard rock?
I play wizard rock because I like it! The HP community is such a wonderful place that I wanted to participate. I can't draw or write fan fiction so I sing and write songs instead.
2. What do you personally get out of being in a wizard rock band?
I get to have fun! This is a way of combining two of my loves. Harry Potter and music.
3. What influences your music/your style?
All the other wrock bands are the influence for our music. Without them we wouldn't have started.
4. How long have you been playing?
Music? Since I was five. Our band started last August.
5. Do you plan to continue having shows and writing songs even though the Harry Potter series has been completed, and why?
Oh yes! Harry Potter isn't dead and wizard rock is a way to keep it living on!
6. What is your favorite part of being in a wizard rock band?
Meeting Harry Potter fans. We're a fun group of people aren't we? ;)
7. What is your least favorite part of being in a wizard rock band?
Um, nothing that I can think of.
8. What advice do you have for potential future wizard rockers?
Just do it! It's a lot of fun!
9. How do you explain wizard rock to people who are new to the genre or to people who (heaven forbid) have never read Harry Potter?
It's hard. They think it's weird, definitely. I just say wizard rock is music about events that happen in the Harry Potter books.
10. Is your band completely DIY, and do you think that being completely DIY is an integral part of being a wizard rock band?
Yeah, we're DIY. I don't think it's integral but I'd like it to stay that way.
11. Have you ever been approached by a corporate record-label asking to sponsor your band? If so, what was your reaction and if not, what would your reaction be in such a situation?
No I haven't. I think I'd die of shock if they thought us good enough! I'd turn it down though. Wrock should be corporate record-label free.
12. Has your band ever had any copyright-infringement issues, and if so how have you dealt with them?
Not yet, thank goodness.
13. Is there any specific message you would like to share with your fans?
Enjoy the music!
