"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood" prince has been the saddest and the most unpredictable book yet. A major character was killed, one was proclaimed a traitor and Harry, Hermione, and Ron, are not planning on returning to Hogwarts for their last year. Who could have expected that twist?

The death of Dumbledore and his funeral were eye-burning to the point of tears to many, and in my opinion J.K.Rowling should be proud that, especially in this book, the characters were so real that it hurt to lose them, just like Sirius in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And it also explains why J.K.Rowling would not let the third movie director put a cemetery, because now, that supposed cemetery is truly like she said by the lake, by Dumbledore’s lifeless body.

It is my strong feeling that many including some characters in the book were right, the Defence position was cursed, Snape, who took it this year fled from school, betrayed everyone, and the worst of all, he murdered Albus Dumbledore with an unforgivable curse. It was a surprise that Snape turned out to be the half-blood-prince. I for one have never suspected him, especially being a Death Eater and letting the Slytherin get away with calling people Mudbloods, and calling Harry’s mother that himself.

There was also a great advance in the romance department with many new couples on the way. Harry and Ginny and Ron and Hermione obviously care about each other deeply but have not yet made the move, but throughout the book, there were feelings of love, hatred, betrayal, revenge, and most of all, jealousy, mostly from Harry, Ron and Hermione.

The memories shown to Harry by Dumbledore on the pensive are a very original part on J.K.Rowling’s part as it showed many important details that we needed to know, but there weren’t many ways to just randomly “plug them in”.

The thing I did not find in the book is the significance of Harry’s eyes, which were like Lily’s. Also, it did not disclose many others things, so I guess, that even though we got much information from this book, everyone will be awaiting book number 7, which, hopefully, will arrive in the near future.

Rita looked as though she would have liked nothing better than to seize the paper umbrella sticking out of Hermione's drink and thrust it up her nose.
