Positive/Negative:

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was by far the best book in the series.

After reading the book I decided that I would definitely not recommend it for the small children standing in the same line as I was 7:30 in the morning, as it was extremely dark. Where I live, in Western Australia, the book was meant to be released at 7:01am. Sadly, my Shopping centre wouldn't open any earlier than 8. Me and one of my Best Friends got there at 7:30, dressed up and holding my Hogwarts banner (my Mum made it years ago). When we got hold of our copies we ran back to the car, gazed in awe for a few seconds before immediately beginning to read.
The first chapter, The Other Minister, was an unexpected beginning, which I thought was really good as it showed how devastating Voldemort and his actions are. By the time I was half-way through the book (around lunch time on the 16th), I had laughed many times at Dumbledore's witty lines. Although one of my favourite lines is “U-No-Poo - The Constipation Sensation that's sweeping the Nation.”
When I read that Harry would be able to do Potions, it reminded me of just how brilliant J.K Rowling is. She came up with a way for Harry to do the classes for him to become an auror even though he did not get an Outstanding OWL.
I thought that Harry's "Lessons" with Dumbledore were really fascinating. It was a really creative way for J.K. Rowling to show us Dumbledore's past. I must a admit I was a bit freaked out to see Tom Riddle as such an evil child.

I was so happy when I read about the romances of this book. I never saw Ron and Lavander together and am glad that they broke up. It was really cute to see Hermione get jealous, Remus and Tonks getting together and of course my favourite couple, Harry and Ginny. Fleur kind of scared me, but it is cool that her and Bill are getting married.

Now onto The Half-Blood Prince. When I read chapter two, Spinner's End, I was slightly confused as to whether Snape was good or evil. Maybe he was pretending and really was on Dumbledore's side, up until he became DADA teacher and we found out that the Half-Blood Prince was an extremely good potion maker. This was when I stopped trusting Snape, knowing that DADA teachers only last a year and Snape is an excellent potion maker.

The Cave was the scariest chapter, I was shaking. I love Dumbledore because despite the situation he still made me laugh when Harry said that he had seen a hand in the water, Dumbledore replied with, "I'm sure you did". When he began to scream that he wanted to die, he wanted his life to end, I was truly scared. This, the greatest wizard ever, who is never scared, was begging to die.

The Lightning Struck Tower was my favourite chapter. Despite what happens, it was written so well and made me feel almost sorry for Malfoy. Tears came to my eyes as Dumbledore was killed (EVIL SNAPE EVIL), I was so shocked.
I never stopped crying when I read the last chapter, like Harry, it finally hit me that Dumbledore was gone. It was topped off by Harry breaking things off with Ginny. They are meant to be together. I was so proud of Harry, who I have watched grow through the books, as he refused Rufus Scrimgeour and told him that he was definitely "Dumbledore's man through and through".

This book was the best written, darkest, scariest, saddest book in the series with lots and lots of information. It was interesting that in most of the books Harry and Ron suspect Snape and at the end they find out that there suspicions were wrong, but really they were right. Snape really was evil from the very beginning and in the end murdered one of the characters in the books.
