The Half-Blood Prince is JK Rowling's best and darkest book yet. Powerful, emotional and interesting is how I describe this book. It starts off slow, but picks up amazing steam as it moves along. HBP is a setup for the finale of this fantastic series at book seven. It is just as action packed as the previous books, containing more romance and better background story-telling, as well as comical relief. Rowling is a brilliant writer with a wonderful style that enables you to picture what’s happening in your head. You will be in tears at the end when Harry's mentor and father figure dies.

I could not stop reading the book, and finished in a day with breaks in between reading. I plan to re-read the book to fully comprehend the story, as I am still shocked over Dumbledore's death.

The book leaves you wondering many things, such as: is Hogwarts going to open next year? Is Harry going back for a little bit? Will Harry use the HBP (Snape’s) book against He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named? Where are the other Horcruxes and how is Harry going to get them? Will Harry gain even more powers and become the greatest wizard of his time, maybe of all time? Rowling leaves questions like these and others at a spectacular cliffhanger in the novel, and hopefully we will not have to wait a long time for the next one.

Even though I am one of the older HP Fans being 19, I still love the series. Although I was not a fan at first, I watched the first two movies (when the first one made its US TV debut), read the fifth book, watched the third movie and then finally read the first four. Thank God for JK Rowling, I will anxiously await her next book. I consider the Harry Potter series to be the best fantasy saga, even over the Lord of the Rings.
