Like all other Harry Potter fans I awaited this book with much excitement! When I finally got my hands on the book, I had to read it at once. Of course, like many others I finished the book with in 24 hours.

When I finished this book, I was surprised and saddened. I was first shocked that she had started this book like she had the 4th one, where the beginning was giving you back up information. I trusted JKR and knew it had much purpose just like in the 4th. Throughout the book there were many surprises. One is that we now know for sure that Hermione and Ron have feelings for each other, and Harry is attracted to Ginny, which I found to my liking.

Now to the fact that Draco was working for He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named: I enjoyed the suspense of wondering what his task was. But by far the biggest thing that got me was the death of Dumbeldore, and that Professor Snape had killed him. After the death of Sirius this really lowered my hope that something good was going to happen.

When I was reading about him having to drink the potion to get to the Horcrux I was scared. The fear came from the fact that Dumbeldore, who was always the one who feared nothing, was scared. I thought that he was going to die, but I always thought that it would be in the last book.

I was also afraid that Harry had killed Draco when he was in the bathroom. Not that I like Draco very much, but I like the idea of Harry being a killer a whole lot less.

I would have never guessed that Professor Snape was the HBP either. The way the book ended was also a shock to me, and it was weird that it ended before the school year did.

My overall thought on the book at first was disappointment. But then I realized that I was just shocked. Once again, I loved this book. I am looking forward to reading about Bill and Fleur’s wedding, Harry visiting his parents’ graves, and the continued battle. I fear what I might read in the 7th book, but if it’s anything like the 6th, I’ll love it. Well done again, JKR you made another classic.
