How are the books listed on the Book Trolley chosen? This question comes from a lot of readers who seem frustrated that their favorite book is not listed on the Book Trolley. Some of them go as far as to write complete reviews and send them to Robbie. This is not necessary, nor is it helpful. Remember, this is basically a column, written by a columnist. What you get on the Book Trolley is the opinion of Robbie Fischer. Robbie can only read one book at a time, and he can only write reviews about the books he has time to read. In all fairness, what he has done isn’t too shabby. Give him a break & don’t blame him for not including every book that you like. In time, Robbie will eventually read lots of them and their reviews will be posted. Be sure to check out the Reader Recommended Titles page, which is overflowing with titles that Robbie hasn’t had time to read, or doesn’t have any short-term plans to read (meaning, they’re not already on his shelf, waiting to be read). Some titles that aren’t on either list are probably going to be reviewed pretty soon; and some titles are going to stay on the RRT list indefinitely. After all, he’s going to read what he wants to read, and some books that other people like just don’t appeal to him. It finally comes down to what Robbie wants to read and when he gets around to it. Use the RRTs as your way to recommend books to other fans. Just because Robbie hasn't or won't review some of them doesn't mean you can't give them a try yourself.
