Little Wizard Stories of Oz
by L. Frank Baum
Fans of Oz, and even those who have never been to that magical land, should enjoy this collection of six short stories, featuring Ozma and the Wizard, Dorothy and Toto, the Hungry Tiger and the Cowardly Lion, Tik-Tok and the Nome King, Jack Pumpkinhead and the Sawhorse, the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman--all on merry, witty, weird little adventures, full of nonsense, magic, and fun. They outwit giants and imps, they go on a rescue mission through the dark forest, and in a particularly witty story, they enlist the aid of crows to help fish a helpless Tin Woodman off the bottom of the river ("You've no idea how damp it is down here.")
Written in 1910 to ease the pain of Oz fans when it appeared that Frank Baum would not be writing any more Oz books (but he did, he did!), these stories will put a twinkle in your eye and help you cope with the modern world's lack of magic.
