Bonnie Wright Discusses Directorial Debut, ‘Separate We Come, Separate We Go’

bonniewright

Last Tuesday Bonnie Wright, who portrayed Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, attended a London screening of her directorial debut Separate We Come, Separate We Go. The 12-minute film tells the story of a 10-year-old dealing with the meaning of loss, and also stars Wright’s fellow-Harry Potter star David Thewlis (Professor Lupin). At the event Bonnie discussed a variety of topics, ranging from her development of this project to the state of English film today. Separate We Come, Separate We Go is the culmination of Wright’s film degree from London’s University of the Arts. She said of collaborating on the project with other students: It was hard to gain that balance in collaboration because it was about degrees being equally marked. But at the same time if someone didn’t stand up and be the director the film would not have been made…Being thrown into the group was the most interesting thing. My film would not be the same if it were not for those collaborators, such as costume, set design and others. Read the full interview and see photos of the event here. Separate We Come, Separate We Go will be available to view online before the year’s end. ... Read More »
