Oh my god, to be done with those shoes and that uniform — that was an exciting day,” says Watson. Radcliffe adds, “When you're 18, one of the worst things to be wearing while trying to chat up a girl on the set is a school uniform. You look like a kid! You’re not going to score dressed like that!” Read More »

Dan Radcliffe talks about life as a celebrity

We have yet another great interview with Daniel Radcliffe–this time from the Guardian. Dan discusses life as a celebrity, shows his passion for art, literature and poetry, and may have let slip the university co-star Emma Watson might be attending in the fall. Here's an excerpt: The film also marks Harry's second kiss, with Ginny Weasley, sister of best friend Ron. Was that enjoyable? “It was quite weird for me because I've known Bonnie [Wright, who plays Ginny] since she was nine and I was 11. Very strange. But we got through it. It was good. And it'll get a bit of a cheer from the Potter fans. But I have to say, today I saw playback of Ron and Hermione's kiss [from the final book], and it is easily, from what we've filmed so far, the biggest moment in all the films. It is,” he says approvingly, “a great kiss.” Read the rest of the article here! Read More »

Los Angeles Times talks to Dan Radcliffe

The countdown to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince continues today, as the Los Angeles Times released its interview with Daniel Radcliffe. In this new interview, Radcliffe talks about his life playing the character he is so known for: “I would like to think I haven’t been influenced by [Harry] too much just by playing him for so long,” Radcliffe said. “I am thrilled to have this in my life, but it is separate from my life, you know? It’s nice to be called Dan. And actually I started correcting people now. You do feel like a bit of an idiot doing that, but at the same time, in the long run it is better for us. I know it’s better for me.” Read More »

Dan Radcliffe on Half-Blood Prince book and film

The Sydney Morning Herald has a wonderful new interview with Daniel Radcliffe about Harry's role in the latest film as well as Radcliffe's thoughts on the series as a whole. Here's some note-worthy quotage: “Most people seem to see these books as being about good and evil,” Radcliffe says. “There is that but I see them more as the story of loss of innocence. It's about a kid who's gone into this world and thinks everything is magical, wonderful and amazing and then realises that this world is darker and more dangerous than the world he has come from. That is his journey. Read More »

New Daniel Radcliffe interview at Leavesden

Australia's Herald Sun visited the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last year and interviewed Daniel Radcliffe. The article describes Leavesden Studios and a day on the set when Slughorn's Christmas party was being filmed. Radcliffe’s not in this scene, but he’s happily watching what Jim Broadbent, who makes his Potter debut in the Half-Blood Prince as Horace Slughorn, does with his several go-throughs. Slughorn is greeting guests, including Luna Lovegood (played by the wonderfully eccentric Evanna Lynch) dressed up like a silver Christmas tree, and with each take Broadbent mixes it up — easy stuff for a veteran of his status. ‘‘I wasn’t in the first shot this morning but I went down to watch it just ’cos . . . I’m just interested in it and I want to see how other people act together. It’s about learning, for me,’’ Radcliffe says. Thanks to the great people at Snitch Seeker, you can read the rest of the article here. Read More »

Dan, Emma and Rupert annoy Jason Isaacs

Not really. While at the first night of Sister Act on the West End, actor Jason Isaacs, who plays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, joked that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint “should have rebelled” to create some controversy. It would be so great for the press if one of them would go off the rails and end up in rehab, but they are, actually, just really sweet guys. Read the rest of the article here. Read More »

MSN UK interviews Dan, Emma, Rupert and Yates

MSN UK has released a transcript from interviews with Harry Potter actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, as well as director David Yates. A lot of the questions are old, but there's some new information. In it, they discuss Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, reflect on the film series and future projects, and much more! When asked about looking back on the earlier movies, Dan expressed his discomfort at watching his earlier performances: There's a certain amount of cringe in my own performance; so I don't look back on the early films. I probably should watch them and take the positives from the way my performances have improved and developed over the years but it's a little embarrassing to see yourself and hear yourself at that age. When I eventually do look back it will be very interesting. Read the full Q&A transcript here. Thanks to Snitch Seeker for the tip! Read More »
