Dan Radcliffe talks Deathly Hallows split, looks, plot, and more in fansite interview

In a new interview with several Harry Potter fansites including MuggleNet, Dan Radcliffe discusses a variety of topics related to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.  Read the entire interview at this link, and read our specific question to Dan below.  Enjoy! Question: For people who haven’t read the books, do you think the fans reaction will turn in the first half of the movie against Dumbledore because of Rita’s book? Dan: Good question. I hope so. That’s kind of the intention. Because that for me is what the first film is about. It’s about faith. It’s about how far can faith be tested before you give in entirely. He hears so much about Dumbledore that is less than redeemable and he starts to really question why he is going on this insane, demanding mission which is costing him his friends and potentially will cost him his life.. for someone he starts to question the values of. Hopefully at the end of the first film people should be very much wondering ‘Well what is this? What was Dumbledore’s real agenda?’ Continue reading… Read More »

I made like a book for everyone and I had silly questions like who was your first crush on the set? What was your best memory? What was your worst memory? Who was your favorite director? . . stuff like that, that’s just really fun. And everyone had a piece of paper to write it all down, but we all discussed our answers and went around and listened to people’s stories and what they remembered. Dan Radcliffe talks to MTV about recent youth suicides, offers advice

In light of several recent youth suicides that have occurred over the past month, Dan has issued this statement to MTV with his feelings on the matter: \”Learning about the suicide deaths of Tyler Clementi, Seth Walsh, Asher Walker, Billy Lucas and Justin Aaberg has been heartbreaking for me. These young people were bullied and tormented by people that should have been their friends.  We have a responsibility to be better to each other, and accept each others’ differences regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ability, or religion and stand up for someone when they’re bullied.\” \”When a friend is feeling depressed or says they’re thinking of killing themselves, we must take it seriously and get them help. My deepest sympathies go out to the families and friends of these excellent young people. And to all the young people who are being bullied right now, you are not alone. Call the Trevor Lifeline at 866 4-U-TREVOR, because there’s always someone there who will listen and who can help.\” We’re glad to see Dan speaking out about this and agree with his tip 100%.  Visit The Trevor Project’s website for more information. Radcliffe talks Deathly Hallows at Movie-Con III, new footage revealed

Actor Daniel Radcliffe was recently interviewed as part of BFI’s Movie-Con III, where he discussed wrapping up filming of Deathly Hallows. On if he got emotional at the end of filming: \”Not then but afterwards. I’ve never seen Rupert Grint cry before; it was weird. It was like seeing your Dad cry. But now we’re on to new things and I’m looking forward to the future.\” On shooting both films over an 18-month period: \”It was hard. Before, the producers and directors were very good at taking all the pressure on their shoulders, but this time going into it we were slightly more nervous than we were before, because we didn’t want to screw it up as the last one.\” On David Yates: \”I think whoever directed the sixth had to direct the seventh; you needed to ensure that there wouldn’t be a distraction there, of a change in style.\” Dan also said if the films were remade in 30 years he’d like to play Dumbledore, but Sirius is the part everyone wants. The interviewers also got a look at a few new scenes, including the Seven Potters and the attack on Bill and Fleur’s wedding. Thanks to Natalia! Read More »

Dan Radcliffe talks Deathly Hallows, gay rights in Out Magazine

Daniel Radcliffe answered some questions about \”Deathly Hallows\” and his commitment to gay rights in an interview with Out Magazine. He is also on this month’s cover. Regarding \”Harry Potter,\” Dan admitted to keeping a few props from the set: \”I’ve got two pairs [of glasses] from the seventh film and the pair I wore in the very, very first movie – which are really tiny on my head now!\” he said. The actor also spoke out against homophobia: \”I think that with every generation, people become more open to those ideas and more aware and more educated. But it’s a really, really slow process. If you take any family with parents who are bringing their kids up in a narrow-minded way that includes homophobia, it will take a very profound moment of realization to change those deep-seated views.\” For more from the interview, click here. Dan Radcliffe talks birthday, Comic Con, crying on set in new interview

The lead actor of the Harry Potter film series spoke with The Los Angeles Times today via phone and commented on the rumors about his presence at this past week’s Comic Com: \”I apologize to all the wishful thinkers for my disappointing non-presence,\” Radcliffe said Monday by phone from London. The actor, who has finished some post-production voice work on the last \”Potter\” film, says he is still grappling a bit with the concept that he will never wear the robes of Hogwarts on screen again. He still cares deeply about \”Potter\” fans, though — he sounded genuinely distressed to hear for the first time about the wildfire rumors that led fans to believe he would be at the San Diego pop-culture expo that wrapped up on Sunday. \”Really? Oh, God, I had no idea. I suppose it’s like when I’m at Reading Festival and I hear that suddenly some amazing band is going to play a surprise gig and then it turns out to be total fiction.\” Dan also discussed how his 21st birthday went. He revealed that he had spent the time with two friends in St. Petersburg. Read the full article at this link! Read More »
