Yahoo! Movies visits Deathly Hallows set, Dan and Emma discuss the challenges

Yahoo! Movies UK recently visited the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and they've just released a preview of what they learned. Below are some comments from Dan and Emma on what its been like to play their roles as of late: “Harry is like a Roman Emperor in his last days and everyone is turning on him,” moaned Radcliffe. “Harry is completely paranoid about what Ron and Hermione are saying about him. He thinks they’re doubting his leadership, but while he is asking people that, he himself is doubting his leadership. He has no plan, so he is pretty useless.” Watson adds, “It's challenging in every way – physically, emotionally. They’re away from home. They’re isolated, they don’t have any news. They don’t know what they’re doing. They’re pulling at shreds. Dumbledore had hardly left them anything to go on.” Read more at this link! Thanks to Boabid for the tip. Read More »

Dan Radcliffe, David Barron on shooting Deathly Hallows camping scenes in Scotland

The Sunday Mail has a new interview with actor Daniel Radcliffe and producer David Barron. The two discuss the camping scenes shot in Scotland and how they dealt with the frigid weather in the area last week. Producer David Barron made a snap decision not to write snow scenes into the plot. He said: “If we had the likelihood is that by the time we filmed them, the snow would have gone. We have only lost half a day's filming because of the snow.” Instead of shooting the scheduled outdoor sequences last week, the team moved back inside the studios and completed scenes on the giant Hogwarts Great Hall set. As he prepared to act out a dramatic scene in the battle against Voldemort, Daniel revealed that audiences can expect a change of scene when the first part of the finale is released later this year. He said: “Part I is a road movie. We are not in Hogwarts at all and it's going to look very different, and the action is going to be pretty extraordinary.” Read More »

Dan Radcliffe participates in table read of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying musical

In October, Variety reported that Dan Radcliffe would be starring in the Broadway musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”. At the time, Dan was the only cast member set for the production. Today, Broadway World is reporting that Dan participated in a table read of the musical in New York City on Monday. The reporter was very pleased with Dan's performance during the read: First things first. Daniel Radcliffe was AMAZING. He interpreted the role in a charming, adorable and fresh way. He sang great. I think everyone was there to see if he could do it. And boy, he really did it. He was great. He came off as a full-fledged musical star. Those of us who saw him in Equus know he has the stage chops as a dramatic actor but now I can say that he could easily take Broadway by storm as a musical comedy star, too. After that final Harry Potter movie comes out, this guy can do whatever he wants in any medium. I loved him. And it seems to me that he is the youngest actor to play the role of Finch. And his youth made the show feel fresh ... Read More »

Dan Radcliffe describes Deathly Hallows set as “absolute madness”

See that look on Dan's face? It's an expression of madness. A new interview with the lead Potter star reveals that things are crazy on the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as they try to nail down the final scenes to shoot: “It's chaos and it's fear and we're terrified we're not going to get it right, and it's absolute madness with rewrites and script changes and scripts not being written and then coming,” he said with a smile. “It's just mad.” But Radcliffe and the “Potter” cast and crew have been this way before, and it all seems to work out in the end. The six films in the franchise have grossed more than $1.7 billion domestically. “Amidst all that, something wonderful hopefully will emerge,” Radcliffe said. “That's what I quite like about the film industry. Chaos bears something so cool and great and polished out into the world.” MTV also released this deleted scene from Half-Blood Prince today to coincide with the release of the DVD. Read More »

Harry/Hermione to kiss in Deathly Hallows

A few days ago we showed you an article noting that Dan Radcliffe would be bare for The Silver Doe scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Today, Snitch Seeker has uncovered a new interview with Deathly Hallows director David Yates, which was posted by LaVibra.com a couple weeks ago. The interview has more comments from Yates about Dan's nude scenes, revealing that there are actually two times the clothes will come off (please note that the text is a rough translation): “Well, Dan (Radcliffe) has appeared nude in the past, but there are a couple of scenes in the new film [where he] will undress, but we're still thinking about how we present it. “It's a fascinating scene in which Harry and Ron (Rupert Grint) [are] trying to kill a Horcrux (a magical creature). He tries to defend [himself] and creates an image of Voldemort's soul, [and there are a] series of images between which are Harry and Hermione (Emma Watson) kissing and embracing. And we will create something that feels very sexy and very intriguing to bring about reaction of Rupert (who Hermione is in love). Radcliffe will [also] appear [bare during] a scene where the young ... Read More »

In an interesting interview with Sky News, Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint discuss the differences in filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Of particular interest, Dan notes that he hasn't filmed one scene in the Great Hall in the entire 8 months of filming (so far) – a new record for him! We can deduce that this means they have not filmed the final battle between Harry and Voldemort yet. From Sky: Daniel Radcliffe says filming some scenes for The Deathly Hallows has been so intense, it gave him a cold he couldn't cast off. “'I'm in every day, basically,” Daniel explains when Sky News catches up with him on the set at Leavesden Studios, near Watford. “I was lying in a pool of mud and dust and smoke and it irritated my throat and I developed a cold.” This time round the cast are doubling-up on their duties. The seventh book has been divided into two films that are shooting back to back. The first will be out in November 2010. “It's getting quite confusing,” laughs Rupert Grint as he takes a break from shooting to talk to Sky News. “We're kind of mixing them together, and because ...
