Waterfall seen in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ to undergo repairs

waterfall

Recognize this waterfall? That’s because it appears in the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire film while Harry battles the Hungarian Horntail during the first task of the Triwizard Tournament. The Steall Falls, near Fort Williams in the UK, is so popular with walkers that it now needs repairs to its surface due to erosion. On average, 40,000 people a year climb the 393 ft. path up the falls. According to an article on deadline, the repair funds come from The John Muir Trust as well as donations from the public, which shows just how important the trail is to people. Footpath officer of the trust, Chris Goodman, said, “The path is justifiably popular – the trail is suitable for young families on a day out and elderly people who may find it too difficult to reach high summit.” Repairs will involve a helicopter because it will be the easiest way to drop necessary materials down on the path. This need and methods used for repair will mean closure for the path and road through Glen Nevis when work needs to be completed on the aerial section. Goodman also stated, “The trail retains that feel of wildness that people ... Read More »

Tom Felton talks about receiving MTV Movie Awards nomination, Goblet of Fire deleted scene

There’s a new interview out today with the actor who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series. In it, he talks about his reaction to receiving a nomination at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards (which we first reported earlier today). Of special interest is his comments about a scene they were planning on shooting for Goblet of Fire, which they ending up scrapping: \”In the fourth film, I got turned into a ferret,\” he said. \”In the original script, it says that in the transition back from ferret to human, I was going to be naked, and I was going to have to run through the courtyard with about 60 extras and 50 film crew and run out with my cheeks on show. For some reason, they pulled that at the last minute. I don’t know why. Maybe they thought it was too explicit for young viewers. Maybe something about not having a wide-angle lens!\” Read More »
