How does this work?
I'm glad you asked! Fanart-Music is all about the creative expression of Potter through music, and when we say "wizard rock" we don't mean to limit the types of music on the site to the alternative rock genre, for instance, but we mean all types of genre are accepted here, including rap/r&b, classical, salsa, electronica, a video of you in your basement cranking out "Hedwig's Theme" on the family trombone... whatever your Potter song, it can easily find a home here.
That sounds great! But how do I--
Submit a song? Easy! Submissions can be either in mp3 or video (.mov) format, meaning you can submit simply the audio clip of your original song (an mp3) or a video of yourself (and your band, perhaps) performing it. Additionally if you have a myspace music account or YouTube channel we can link visitors to your other music.
Alright! Now who exactly do I send my song to...?
Whoa there good buddy! You will be sending your submissions over to me, Fan Art Supervisor Noah Fried, but not before you read the following instructions for submission!
Instructions For Submission
BEFORE sending your song...
Make sure you include the following in your E-mail:
1) Your name 2) The title of your song 3) The chosen genre of your song 4) The lyrics of your song (just in case the audio isn't clear)
5) Your submission should be attached to the e-mail as a file, with the tag (.mp3) if it's a song, and if it's a video it can either be attached to the e-mail with the tag (.mov) OR, if your video is on YouTube, you can place a link to it in the body of your e-mail. HOWEVER you must be able to prove that video you have linked is really yours.
6) In the subject line of your email you must write "Fanart-Music Submission." E-mails without the proper subject heading are sure to get deleted/ buried in my inbox.
Got the instructions down? Here are a few more rules before you submit your original song...
1) You DO NOT talk about Fanart-Music! (Except with your friends and family!) 2) Songs MUST be Harry Potter related in some way to qualify for this section 2) Songs with any kind of profanity or videos with offensive images will not be posted 3) Songs submitted for Fanart-Music must be original songs, written and performed by the fans submitting them.
