David Bradley

David Bradley was born in York, England on April 17, 1942 and became an actor in 1971 when he first appeared on television as a policeman in the successful comedy series Nearest and Dearest.

David has received critical acclaim for his roles on both stage and screen, garnering nominations for several Laurence Olivier Awards. In 1991, he was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in King Lear with the Royal National Theatre. Shortly thereafter he won the 1993 Clarence Derwent Award for Best Supporting Actor for the role of Polonius in Hamlet and Shallow in Henry IV Part II at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

For the 2014 National Doodle Day, David donated a “doodle” of his character in the Harry Potter series, Argus Filch, and Filch’s cat Mrs. Norris for the charity auction. All proceeds went to Epilepsy Action. Learn more about here.

2013 saw David take on the role of William Hartnell, the iconic First Doctor, in the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebration BBC docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time.

Fantasy fans may also recognize David from his chilling portrayal of the devious Walder Frey in HBO’s Game of Thrones television series.
