Potter Career

Potter Career

In an interview at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where Tennant plays Barty Crouch Jr., he says that it is “great to be a part of the phenomenon, even if only briefly.” He says in the same interview that it “depends on your perspective! Fans of Voldemort think I [Barty Crouch Jr.] are great!” However, he said it was great to play a “baddy” and to do some “mustache-twirling.”

In an interview after the movie came out, David said it was an honor to be in the films, but he felt a bit like a fraud because he was only in the movie for twelve minutes. However, he says it’s nice to be a part of it, however small. He has also said that he wasn’t too starstruck onset, having known Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, and Maggie Smith. He said he particularly enjoyed listening to Michael tell “rabid tales” for days.

Who put Harry’s name into the Goblet of Fire?

Answer the Trivia Question

David premiered as the 10th Doctor at the end of the first season of the rebooted Doctor Who, in the episode “Parting of the Ways.” He continued to be on the show from 2006 – 2009, giving him the most episodes in the new series. This was a lifelong dream for Tennant, who grew up watching Tom Baker and other classic Doctors, and spent much of his childhood wanting to be the Doctor. It has been said that he became an actor to do just that.

During his run of the Doctor, he was in episodes with classic companion Sarah Jane Smith (Elizabeth Sladen) (companion to 3rd and 4th Doctors), the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) for a Children in Need special, and his would-be wife, and daughter of Peter Davison, Georgia Moffett. He also mentioned Harry Potter in an episode of Doctor Who, The Shakespearean Code, where he mentioned the seventh book and the spell “Expelliarmus”.

His run as the Doctor ended in 2009 with the end of Russell T. Davies’ run as producer. He was succeeded by Matt Smith. He reprised his role as the Tenth Doctor in the fiftieth anniversary episode, The Time of the Doctor, alongside Smith and John Hurt.
