David Heyman and Alfonso Cuarón’s “Gravity” ties for Producers Guild Award, gets DVD release date

In the first ever tie for top prize at the Producers Guild Awards, Alfonso Cuarón and David Heyman took home the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures for Gravity, alongside the producers of 12 Years a Slave.

Cuarón joked in his acceptance speech that as a producer, it was difficult to work with himself as a “stubborn, uncompromising” director. Among those he thanked were the film’s star, Sandra Bullock, and his son and co-writer, Jonas Cuarón.

Warner Home Video has also announced Gravity‘s DVD release date for February 25. It will be available on Blu-ray 3D combo and Blu-ray DVD combo and will also include a number of bonus features.

The next stop on the awards season train is the Directors Guild Awards, which will take place this Saturday, January 25. Cuaron is again nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement. We wish him continued luck!
