Harry Potter for Kinect is a video game developed by Eurocom and published by Warner Bros. Interactive. It was released on October 9, 2012. It is only for the Xbox 360 system and requires the Kinect accessory.
It includes content based on all eight films in the Harry Potter series. It includes multiplayer features, and the Kinect accessory allows players to use spells via physical gestures and call our spell names out loud. The players can scan their faces so that they can create a unique witch or wizard to navigate through the game. Events include getting your wand at Ollivanders, being sorted at Hogwarts, and battling Lord Voldemort. You cast spells, brew potions, and duel others, in class and outside school, to unlock even more lessons and challenges. You can challenge a friend in competitive mini-games or join forces against a mutual opponent in co-op games.
The game received mixed reviews because it is essentially a collection of mini-grames based on clips from the films, rather than a game in itself. Therefore, some critics said that it was no fun. It has a 3.6/5 based on user reviews on Amazon and a 56/100 aggregate score on Metacritic. It is a short game length that requires a lot of energy and a short attention span.
