High Inquisitor

The station of Hogwarts High Inquisitor is a relatively new position created by the Ministry of Magic during the year of 1995. The first appointed High Inquisitor was the Minster of Magic’s Senior Undersecretary, Dolores Umbridge.

Professor Dumbledore, the current headmaster of Hogwarts, was opposed to this rank but due to Educational Decree 23, he had no power to bring this to a stop.

The High Inquisitor main responsibility was to inspect the staff at the school, with the power to remove them from their posts if deemed necessary. The High Inquisitor also has the ability to create and impose Educational Decrees at will.
