The Hogwarts School Motto

The Hogwarts school motto is Latin and reads "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus". The accepted translation of this is "Never Tickle a Sleeping Dragon", although the precise English version is actually "A Sleeping Dragon Must Never be Tickled" (thanks to Mags for the Latin expertise). It appears on the school crest, which also bears the name of the school, and the four symbols which represent the houses of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
