School Song

The Hogwarts school song is traditionally sung at the end of the start-of-year feast. Professor Dumbledore prefers each person to pick any tune that they fancy and fit the words to it. The resultant cacophony is not magically altered in any way, which means that it really does end up as an unlistenable noise, with everybody singing in different keys, at different speeds, and finishing at different times.

The words are displayed for the pupils to follow using a golden ribbon which is conjured by Professor Dumbledore. They are as follows:

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
For now they’re bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we’ve forgot,
Just do your best, we’ll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot.

We found a version of this song on Morpheus (http://www.musiccity.com). We don't know if it's the real thing or just a fan copy.
