Inquisitorial Squad

The Inquisitorial Squad (OoTP28) was set up by Professor Umbridge after her replacement of Dumbledore as Hogwart’s Headteacher. They are described by Malfoy as being: “A select group of students who are supportive of the Ministry of Magic , hand-picked by Professor Umbridge.”(OoTP28pg551).

The squad were given responsibilities to weed out and punish any pupils who were hostile to Umbridge, and were given the power to take house points from other students. Inevitably (given the people who were signed up), they simply abused their power in order to attempt to intimidate anyone they fancied, which was usually anyone from Gryffindor. Montague was probably left wishing he’d looked for more vulnerable victims than Fred and George Weasley, however, as he tried to extricate himself from the toilet he ended up jammed into.

The squad was distinguishable by a small silver “I” badge that could be found upon their robes. After Dumbledore’s return they were, unsurprisingly, disbanded.

Members of the Inquisitorial Squad:
Draco Malfoy
Millicent Bullstrode
Montague
Pansy Parkinson
