Looking for a simple, sweet and yummy snack? Try making licorice wands! These milk chocolate covered licorice sticks can satisfy any sweet tooth!

Makes 26 small licorice wands

Takes about one hour to make

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (Jessica used milk chocolate!)
  • 13 licorice sticks (your favorite flavor)
  • Optional: 2-3 Oreo or Chocolate Chip Cookies

Directions:

Step 1: Cut the licorice sticks in half to make about 15cm sticks

Step 2: If using the optional cookies - place them in a plastic sandwich bag and crush them into crumbs - place in a bowl.
***Note: If using Oreo Cookies - separate the 2 halfs and remove the cream filling before crushing the cookies***

Step 3: Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl by placing microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir and continue repeating for another 30 seconds until chocolate is melted. (Careful - bowl will be hot).

Step 4: When chocolate is melted pour into a skinny glass to make the next step easier.

Step 5: Dip the licorice sticks about half-way into the chocolate and sprinkle them with the cookie crumbs as desired.

Step 6: Place sticks onto wax paper on a plate and set in refrigerator until chocolate is frozen completely

Step 7: Remove sticks from wax paper, place in a serving cup and enjoy!

Thank You Jessica! They look delicious!
