The Wizocrats (pronounced wiz - o - crats) are those who make up some of the toughest people in the Wizarding World. They mean business and have had experiences in life that have made them who they are today. Look at who's running and see what they're up to.

Harry Potter (Eliminated)

Biography: Harry James Potter is best known for his inspiring battle against Lord Voldemort during Harry's seventh year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry has had an active role in the Ministry of Magic since becoming an Auror and then eventually became head of the department. He is married to his best friend's younger sister, Ginny Weasley, and has three children. Harry's experience within the Ministry, as well as his long-time dedication to the greater good, has prepared him for role as Minister.

Dolores Umbridge (Eliminated)

Biography: After a brief stint in Azkaban, Dolores Umbridge has reformed her erratic ways, but still believes strongly in strict rules and principles. She once served as the Senior Under-Secretary to Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, Hogwarts High Inquisitor and even had a brief stint as Headmistress of Hogwarts during one of the wizarding world's most troubling times. Known for her Educational Decrees and sharp tactics while at Hogwarts, Dolores is someone who can easily "cut the fat" at the Ministry and rid the institution of any unnecessary departments, programs and employees. She prides herself on acting in the best interest of pure wizarding families. Having served the Ministry before in times of crisis, Dolores is exactly the person needed to bring stability and respect back to the position of Minister for Magic.

Lucius Malfoy

Biography: Lucius Malfoy is a man who gets results. Having a son who attended Hogwarts for seven years (a star player on the Slytherin Quidditch team, no less), one of Lucius' greatest priorities was to make sure Draco had a top-notch educational experience. It was for this reason that he was an active Hogwarts School Govenor and made several changes to ensure the best for his son and fellow classmates. Lucius has been at the Ministry, for quite a while, and now he wishes to take these maverick qualities and be at the very front of the Ministry of Magic.

Top Stances (these were sent in from the candidate's campaign manager, so you may not want to believe everything you see!):

  • Equal wizarding rights for all: Malfoy believes that all wizards should have the same rights no matter what gender, blood type, race, age, or sexual orientation. His old stances on equality are far in the past, and Malfoy has learned what is right for the Wizarding World.
  • Full Education at any of the three Wizarding Schools: When it comes to education, Malfoy says that there is nothing more important. A proper education will set students up for the wizarding world so they can have a successful life and family. All children must enroll in school by age 11, or the Ministry will do it for them and penalize the child's family with a 50 galleon fee.
  • Foriegn Country Relations: Malfoy has always closely followed what's going on in the Muggle World and wants to make sure that all wizards are aware of what's going on too. He will work to help the world's poorest countries make a comeback with better economies, education plans, and governments.
  • Crime: Having unfairly been in Azkaban himself, Malfoy knows that the Wizarding World must lower its crime rate in popular areas such as Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. Malfoy will work to improve safety by researching new magical protection techniques for shops and high-traffic public areas.
  • Environment: Most Wizards are aware of Muggles and their high-polution rates. Malfoy believes that using magic is the best way to improve the environment in the Wizarding World because it is virtually 100% clean to conduct. As Minister, he will hire a research team to look at magical ways to keep our World clean.

Hermione Granger

Biography: Hermione Granger, married and mother of two, was one of the most exceptional students to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during her tenure. She currently holds a position of high standing in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement working towards eradication of oppressive pro-pureblood laws, herself being the child of two Muggles. Granger has been recognized for her work in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures where she greatly improved living conditions for house-elves. Little known may be the importance of Granger's role in assisting Harry Potter to bring about the demise of Lord Voldemort and his followers. Hermione is a caring mother, an advocate for the rights of many and quite possibly the "brightest witch of our age" - just ask some of her opponents.

Top Stances (these were sent in from the candidate's campaign manager, so you may not want to believe everything you see!):

  • Equality:
  • I have worked towards the eradication of oppressive pro-pureblood laws and greatly improved living conditions for house-elves during my time at the Ministry. I will continue to ensure legislation is passed that increases equality amongst all witches, wizards and magical creatures.
  • Economy:
  • I will surround myself with the most accomplished financial advisers from Gringotts to make sure that our wizarding economy does not suffer the same turmoil as we now see from our Muggle counterparts in the United States. Rest assured you will not see us run a deficit during my time as Minister.
  • Health Care:
  • All wizards, witches and magical creatures should have access to free and effective medical services. I will propose legislation that St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries as well as other wizarding hospitals open their doors to everyone free of charge.
  • Security:
  • The Ministry's Auror Department will be composed of the best and brightest in our community. I have seen the work of the most powerful dark wizard of our time and helped in the fight that ultimately led to his downfall. Voldemort and the Death Eaters will never happen again. I will reach out to other wizarding leaders in various countries to not only secure our borders, but our world as a whole.
