Brendan Gleeson

Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody

Full name: Brendan Gleeson
DOB: 29 March 1955
Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland
Short biography: A husband, a father, a former secondary school teacher, and now an accomplished actor - Brendan Gleeson has proven himself to be one of the most versatile performers on the UK stage scene. After his senior year in secondary school, he spent a few years at the Dublin Shakespeare Festival. Following a mentor's advice, he headed to London to audition for several drama schools. He was accepted at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he finished a three-year honors degree. After that, he returned to Dublin, where he continued working in theater while doubling as a secondary school teacher in English and Drama. Soon afterwards, he was asked to audition for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford upon Avon. Naturally, he was immediately accepted, and he spent several seasons acting on the English stage before finally deciding, at age thirty-five, to audition for UK films. In 1995, he appeared in Braveheart, directed by Mel Gibson, and since then, he has continued to enthrall his audience with his phenomenal acting abilities.

Gleeson (sort of) portrayed Mad-Eye Moody in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
