David Tennant

Bartemius Crouch, Jr.

Full name: David MacDonald
Age: 35
Birthplace: Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, UK
Short biography: The son of a minister of the Church of Scotland, David Tennant recognized his desire to become an actor at age three. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and later developed his career in theatre, appearing several times in the Royal Shakespeare Company. Already a widely-recognized theatre performer, he further enhanced his career by breaking into the television and film industry, appearing in Casanova and the hit TV series Doctor Who. He had to change his name from MacDonald to Tennant (after Neil Tennant, singer of the Pet Shop Boys), before joining the actor’s union because of an existing David MacDonald in the industry.

Tennant/MacDonald portrayed Moody imposter Barty Crouch, Junior, in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
