Short biography: Jamie Waylett was nine years old when he was involved in a huge car accident. Doctors claimed that he had almost no chance of surviving, although survival meant lifelong brain damage. He had spent three days in intensive care when a family friend asked the doctors to check his blood. After a successful blood transfusion, Jamie woke up the next day and began to show signs of improvement.

Jamie's acting career started off when a casting agent for the Harry Potter films came to his classroom in Emmanuel Primary School to take pictures of potential actors. Then ten years old, he sprinted home excitedly, telling his family that he was going to star in a movie. Weeks later, he was called in to audition for Vincent Crabbe, although he was considered for the role of Dudley Dursley as well. Director Chris Columbus took him in almost immediately.
