Full name: Julie Frances Christie DOB: 14 April 1941 Birth place: Chabua, Assam, India Short biography: Julie Frances Christie is an Academy Award-winning film actress (she won the award for Best Actress in 1965). Christie was born on April 14, 1940 in Assam, India, which was then part of the British Empire. She is one of the two children of Rosemary Ramsden and Frank St. John Christie, who ran a tea plantation. Christie studied at a convent in India, but was expelled. Later, she studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama before getting her big break in 1961 - a role in a science fiction series "A for Andromeda" that aired on BBC Television. The full recordings of this series have now been lost, but the sixth episode and a section of material from the seventh do survive.
