Image of SHELL COTTAGE. We hear the sound of waves breaking along shore. The view loops around to show a figure behind the house. Zoom in on HARRY, on his knees. He appears to be digging.

Cut to HERMIONE and RON, watching HARRY from inside. HERMIONE appears pale, weak. She holds onto RON for support.

RON
Do you think we ought to go over there? Help him out?

HERMIONE
[hesitant] No. No, I think he needs to do this on his own.

Cut back to HARRY, still digging. Zoom outward, to reveal that it is now nighttime. We see HARRY, RON, HERMIONE, BILL, and FLEUR standing around what we now realize is DOBBY's grave. LUNA appears, carrying a wooden box; we catch a glimpse of DOBBY, donned in various pieces of clothing. RON's arm is wrapped around HERMIONE, who is crying quietly, leaning slightly into Ron's chest. HARRY takes the box from LUNA, and lowers it into the grave. He then stands slightly apart from the others.

LUNA
We should say a few words, I think.

RON
Yeah. Yeah, that's a good idea. Er...

LUNA
Thank you, Dobby, for rescuing us. I did not know you very well, but I do know I'll always be grateful for how brave you were to rescue us. I hope you're happy now, wherever you are.

RON
Yeah...thanks, Dobby.

The rest are silent for a moment. We hear HERMIONE sob, softly.

HARRY
If you all don't mind...I'd like to have a moment alone, to say goodbye.

BILL
Of course.

Everyone but HARRY exits. LUNA touches Harry's shoulders lightly as she passes him.

HARRY
Dobby...you should have listened to me when I told you never to save my life again. [bitter laugh] [with determination] I swear to you, I will avenge you. This isn't fair. [more quietly] This isn't fair.

We see tears running down HARRY's face.

HARRY
[bitterly smiling] I hope wherever you are, you're having fun. I hope you're finally free.

HARRY kneels down and puts the finishing touches on DOBBY's grave; a tombstone. He takes out his wand, and we see orange sparks fly out at the stone.When he is finished, he stands up and takes one last look at the grave. We zoom in to see that the stone reads: HERE LIES DOBBY, A FREE ELF, in crude lettering. The letters are glowing slightly.

SCENE : SHELL COTTAGE [INSIDE]

HARRY walks in, and finds that RON and HERMIONE are waiting for him. They appear concerned.

HERMIONE
Are you alright?

HARRY
[Starts to nod, but then jerks his head] No. No, I'm not. I need to finish this. I'm tired seeing the people that I care about die for me. I'm not worth it. We have to end this, and we have to end this now.

RON
What...?

HARRY
I have to talk to Ollivander.

HARRY walks briskly past them, down the hallway; they follow behind him. HARRY opens a door, and we see the hall light cast onto OLLIVANDER, who is sitting up awake, in bed. It appears almost as if he's been waiting.

OLLIVANDER
Mr. Potter, I - [cut off as HARRY puts up his hand]

HARRY
We need to talk. What do you know about the Deathly Hallows?

OLLIVANDER
[sighs deeply] It is rumored there are three. To possess them all is to make oneself immortal. But few truly believe such objects exist. If it's true...you really don't stand a chance.

Zoom into HARRY's face. His expression goes from grim to alarmed, as his eyes widen and mouth falls open.

SCENE : HOGWARTS GROUNDS ; NIGHT

We appear to be gliding across HOGWARTS grounds; it is clear that we are seeing the grounds from someone's point of view, specifically. We see, in the distance, a large WHITE TOMB. The tomb comes closer into view as we glide towards it.

We zoom out slightly to reveal that we were viewing the tomb from VOLDEMORT's point of view, who now points his wand at the tomb. Sparks fly from his wand and explode; the top of the tomb shatters, and with a sweep of his wand, the cover flies off and crashes nearby.

SCENE : SHELL COTTAGE

We zoom out of HARRY's pupil, focusing on his horror-stricken face as he realizes what has happened. RON and HERMIONE sit at his side, looking alarmed.
