EXT. SHELL COTTAGE - NIGHT

HARRY is seen kneeling over the body of DOBBY, with the silver knife still protruding from his chest.

HARRY
(desperately)
Dobby... no Dobby, say something, please...

The elf, dead, does not respond; tears are leaking from Harry's eyes, and does not notice the arrivals of BILL, FLEUR, DEAN, and LUNA until he hears their FOOTSTEPS on the cold ground. He turns around and looks at them.

HARRY
(continuing)
Hermione... where is she?

BILL
It's alright Harry, she's inside with Ron. She'll be fine.

Harry looks back at Dobby, and slowly pulls the knife from his body. He then removes his jacket and covers the elf with it, listening to the sound of the sea SPLASHING against the rocky cliff while the others TALK. A momentary flash of VOLDEMORT punishing those at Malfoy Manor appears, but vanishes almost immediately, as Harry's grief is sufficient to block out the images. He stands up and faces Bill.

HARRY
(in a shaking voice)
I want to do it properly. Without magic. Do you have a spade?

BILL
They're in the cottage, I'll get them.

As he heads off to the cottage, RON and DEAN exit and walk to Harry.

HARRY
How's Hermione?

RON
She'll be fine. Fleur's taking care of her.

Bill returns moments later with three spades, and hands one silently to each one of them, who choose a spot and start to dig. They work in silence, none saying a word to the other, until the hole is deep enough.

RON
I think that'll do it.

Ron sits down on the edge of the freshly dug grave, pulls off his shoes and socks, and puts them on Dobby's feet. Dean pulls off his hat and places it on the elf's head, and LUNA, Bill, Fleur and Hermione approach the grave. Luna closes the elf's eyes gently with her finger, and Harry lifts and places him into the grave, as tears begin to slide down his face again. Luna walks to the edge of the grave and looks into it.

LUNA
Thank you so much, Dobby, for everything that you did for us. You rescued me from the cellar, you arrived in our time of need to save us all. You were a good, brave elf, and it is unfair that you had to die the way you did. Rest in peace, Dobby; we will always remember you.

She turned and looked at the others.

RON
(solemnly)
Yeah... thanks Dobby.

DEAN
(quietly)
Thanks.

HARRY
(almost whispering)
Goodbye, Dobby.

Bill raises his wand, and the freshly dug dirt rises, and falls onto the grave neatly, covering it. Almost immediately after, Harry CRYS out, clutching his head, and falls to the ground.

EXT. HOGWARTS - NIGHT (SAME TIME)

VOLDEMORT is striding across the front lawn of Hogwarts, with a sense of controlled purpose. Looking toward the castle and realizing lights are on, he casts a Disillusionment Charm upon himself, hiding him completely. He continues to the edge of the lake, where Dumbledore's marble tomb seemed to glow in the moonlight.

HARRY (V.O.)
No...

He raises his wand, and the tomb splits open from top to bottom, and falls to the ground, revealing the table Dumbledore's body had been placed on before the tomb had appeared. The wrappings fall off to reveal Dumbledore's body, perfectly preserved, with the Elder Wand laying under his folded arms.

HARRY (V.O.)
(again)
No...

Voldemort moves Dumbledore's arm aside, and picks up the Elder Wand laying beneath. He holds it high over his head in triumph, as it shoots sparks into the air.

EXT. SHELL COTTAGE - NIGHT

Harry looks up to see Bill, Fleur, Ron, Dean, Luna, and Hermione looking down at him.

RON
(urgently)
What happened? What did you see?

HERMIONE
(hushed)
Is You-Know-Who coming?

There is a brief silence.

HARRY
He found the Elder Wand.

As Ron covers his mouth in shock, the scene FADES OUT.
