Aussie Update!
Posted on 25 Sep 2007 by Eric
UPDATE (Like the title says): The events in both Melbourne and Sydney are LIKELY to be pushed back ONE WEEK, so that the SYDNEY event takes place on FRIDAY the 19TH OF OCTOBER and that the MELBOURNE event takes place on either the 20th or 21st. The push-back is a result of our inability to thus far find premises, and the decreasing amount of time in which to plan. Pushing the dates back this week makes them also coincide with the J.K. Rowling event in New York City, which the other MuggleCasters will be attending! Therefore, MuggleCast fun on two opposite sides of the globe!!!

If you have already RSVPed and CAN make this event WITH the date change, you do NOT need to RSVP again. HOWEVER, if you can NOT make the NEW tentative dates for the events, please let us know.... we are sorry for the mixup and until we get premises for sure and a venue down-pat we still will not know for certain. But we should quite soon.

The email address for rsvp-ing is still mugglecastoz@gmail.com - we will also be asking quite soon for ideas on show topics, but right now we need the numbers as we're still trying to secure a venue. Please let us know if you will be able to make it and how many people you will be with! Also, any ideas for a venue? Send them as well. This is highly exciting, and I can't wait to meet you all! REPRESENT!!!

ALSO! PLEASE, because this is NOT YET confirmed, PLEASE do not book flights to Melbourne or Sydney JUST YET. We are working rapid-fire to make sure we have an event to go to, but there is no guarantee that the dates won't change (worst case scenario) or that we will have a venue. Please wait for further confirmation from me via this blog feed as I wouldn't want anyone to spend money in vain in hopes of meeting up. Once we have confirmation from a venue and knowledge of the numbers of fans able to attend (they go hand-in-hand somewhat, more fans bigger venue) then we can make SURE of everything and then I will confirm that it is safe to try and book travel, for CERTAIN. I wouldn't want to cause anyone money loss.... this is still UNofficial.

MuggleCast #114 problems
Posted on 24 Sep 2007 by Andrew
It looks like computers and the internet are not on my side this week. After running into tons of problems editing the show, it's also not loading online. You may see the show appear on the feed and this website, but it won't work. At least not right now.

We should have this fixed within the next 12 - 24 hours. I apologize for the delay!

Calling all Aussies!
Posted on 24 Sep 2007 by Eric
Hello, everyone! Eric here! I've got something rather important and exciting to announce. In just three weeks, the weekend of October 12th and 13th, 2007, I MIGHT be in the vicinity of Melbourne, Australia, visiting during my university exam break. This is significant only because I want to do something with *all* Australian MuggleCast listeners in attendance! I want to do an event, have some fun! Have a get-together of sorts, and I need to know if this is possible!

How YOU can help is, if you think that you might be interested in coming to this event (again, in Melbourne, Australia on Friday the 12th/Saturday the 13th of October) please send us an email at mugglecastoz@gmail.com telling us how many of you you are! Lol. What we need MOST is a sense of how many people might be able to make it - as that will determine WHERE we can have the event and WHAT the actual event will be.

This is kind of out on a whim in a rush to accomodate the Australian listeners who make up an important part of our audience! Sorry for the short notice, but right now we just need to know if you are interested! Plans for the show itself will be taking place soon, and more updates will be posted here!

There will also be an ad on this week's MuggleCast. Thanks!

UPDATE: The MAJORITY of emails received thus far have been urging for an event to take place in Sydney either instead or in addition to the Melbourne event. This is becoming rather complex for one man to organize, but I'm trying! Melbourners have suggested the use of Federation Square for a venue, however in order to even apply we would need to know everything from seat counts to bracelets to lighting/stage/everything else. This is going to be a low-key event and there cannot be much budget at all for it, I will say that in advance. Therefore, it will probably be held somewhere in public, in a park or something. I don't know how I'll get audio equipment without disturbing the peace yet.

Basically, I'm considering doing an event in Melbourne on Friday, October 12th and in Sydney on Saturday, October 13th. But without knowledge of the amount of people and their preference (to which event), I won't be able to try to find a place. Please let me know via the email. This is gonna be big, but LOW KEY. Thanks!

MuggleCast #114 has been recorded but will be released Monday night (most likely). See you then!

MuggleCast #109 - 113: LIVE (the rest)
Posted on 20 Sep 2007 by Andrew
EDIT: It looks like the exports all got screwed up and are playing us back at a higher pitch. This isn't because of Ustream or anything.. it's my computer's fault when I had it export all the files for the web. Unfortunately, I can't fix it, so hopefully nobody will be too bothered by it!

The other day, we posted the first part of our 12-hour LIVE podcast event! Now available are the other five parts, each available as a separate download on the MuggleCast iTunes feed as well our website.

All that and much much much much MUCH more is available on these five shows! To download, update your iTunes feed and download each individual episode. You can also download them over at the MuggleCast website (and if you're on dial-up, we have versions just for you).

MuggleCast #114, scheduled to be a normal show, will be available for everyone Sunday night or Monday. We'll see you again then!

MuggleCast LIVE: A Huge Success!
Posted on 16 Sep 2007 by Andrew
Thank you to EVERYONE who listened in during our 12-hour LIVE podcast yesterday. We had a great time speaking with lots of people, bringing on special guests, and talking Harry Potter. Big thanks also go out to Ustream.tv, who hosted over 900 of you consistently for the entire duration.

We've been getting nothing but great reviews of the show, so we'll definitely start doing live podcasts in the future (but they won't be 12 hours... more like 2 or 3). The first part of the live show will be released pretty soon.

I'd also like to bring your attention to this great piece of fanart created by Allison. It features all of last night's MuggleCast hosts in their pickle state. From left to right: Micah, Eric, Jerry, Laura, Jamie, Andrew, Ben, and Mikey. Great job, Allison!
