The online home of the most listened to Harry Potter podcast online
Our most recent updates sent via Twitter:
Doyle transcript now available Posted on 27 Feb 2009 by Micah
You can now check out the transcript of our interview with Goblet of Fire composer Patrick Doyle from Episode 170. Additionally, our transcribers have been hard at work getting us all caught up with transcripts from our more recent episodes. Be sure to keep checking back as we will continue to be adding our missing shows. Thanks to Margaret and the transcribers for all their hard work!
It's a new MuggleCast.com! Posted on 20 Feb 2009 by Andrew
As promised on Episode 170, we've released a new design for the official online home of MuggleCast.
Our new design features a 'memories of MuggleCast' theme as you can see by the header. We also have a new area for the latest Wall of Fame episodes on the right side of the page (by the way - we have one new inductee!).
We've also gone through the site and made updates to all of the pages. One of the biggest updates is the About page, which now has a picture of each host. We're kind of embarrassed it took us this long to add pictures - people have been asking for them for a very long time.
Looking ahead, we have at least one new page idea that we'll release soon. It's a page that holds all the episodes with cast/crew/author interviews.
We hope you enjoy!
LOL @ my mistake Posted on 19 Feb 2009 by Andrew
Many of you wrote in to let us know that there was an editing glitch at the end of MuggleCast Episode 170. The music at the end is extremely loud and overrides our outro.
This is completely my fault and I apologize for it. This is what I get for not double-checking my work! Stay in school, kids!
Thanks to everyone who let us know :)
Azkatraz Reality Podcast Contest Posted on 16 Feb 2009 by Micah
Do you have what it takes to be the next Potter Podcaster? Have you ever listened to your favorite podcast and thought, "I can do that!" -- well here’s your chance!
As we mentioned on Episode 170, HPEF and MuggleCast are teaming up to create The Next Biggest Podcast Idol Survivor - a contest and endeavor to make the next great Harry Potter podcast. The competition culminates on Monday, July 20, when the winners will get the chance to podcast live from AZKATRAZ in San Francisco, California as part of the Podcast Palooza.
PART I: AUDITIONS
Post your audition reel to YouTube with the title "HPEF The Next Biggest Podcast Idol Contest -- (insert your name here )" by March 15, 2009, to be eligible for the contest. You MUST be registered for AZKATRAZ to enter the contest and be at least 14 years of age to enter. Those under the age of 18 as of July 18, 2009, must e-mail pr@hp2009.org a copy of the notarized chaperone form you submit when registering. After posting your YouTube video, e-mail pr@hp2009.org with a link to your video. You must also include the following information: Real Name (not your fandom name), age, e-mail, and phone.
PART 2: ANNOUNCING THE WINNERS
A panel of judges (consisting of hosts from the podcasts HPEF Presents and MuggleCast) will choose the top 5 audition tapes and announce the winners on a special edition of HPEF Presents.
PART 3: MAKING THE PODCAST
Once the winners are chosen, the work begins! At this point, the hosts will work with our judges to name the podcast, define their individual roles, make a website, come up with a theme song, design the format of the show, come up with new and exciting content, record & edit a first show, promote their show, and much more!
PART 4: THE BIG TAMALE
Finally our new podcasters will have the chance to get their feet wet; there’s no time to waste, so they'll jump right in! The culmination of this contest will, of course, be recording a live podcast at AZKATRAZ's Podcast Palooza event this summer. Having worked with the judges for months in preparation for this event, the Podcasters will put on a live podcast by themselves in front of the entire AZKATRAZ conference. We will see if this podcast can become the next great Harry Potter podcast!
The entire process will be documented on HPEF Presents, MuggleCast, and YouTube. For questions, please e-mail pr@hp2009.org.
